Fans React to the Possibility of Riley Leonard Getting Drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft

In the Senior Bowl, Leonard completed six of seven passing attempts for 54 yards. According to Notre Dame writer Jack Soble, he had a productive week at the Senior Bowl and raised his draft stock.

However, not everyone is excited about the possibility of him getting drafted.

Fans reacted to the possibility of Leonard getting drafted on X, with one fan even saying that if he manages to get drafted anything is possible. Overall, the reaction was mixed.

“If this guy gets drafted, truly anything is possible,” one fan wrote.

“He did great considering his first drive ended in a turnover and the second started at the five for 1st-15 after a penalty,” one fan commented.

“With each game he plays, Riley Leonard’s draft ranking will undoubtedly soar! Will there be any surprises in this year’s draft?” one fan added.

Fans continued to discuss Leonard in the comments on X.

“He’s a great kid and a good athlete but to me he just isn’t a throwing quarterback. He just doesn’t throw the ball well enough to be an NFL quarterback. I just do not see him playing at the next level. I can see him going on to be a great coach or either a broadcaster,” one fan wrote.

“Notre Dame fan here. I mean, I just cannot imagine any NFL team drafting him. Hes a wonderful kid, and runs the ball in a way that is hard to stop. But He’s just so…. Awful… at passing. Short and intermediate throws are frequently wildly inaccurate. His deep ball is bad,” one fan commented.

“He did great…but we knew he would.! We will miss seeing him in that gold helmet!” one fan added.

It will be interesting to see where Leonard gets drafted in the spring. Most scouts are not overly high on him despite his strong season. However, this is a weak quarterback class, so there is a chance he will be drafted in the later rounds.
