The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on Feb. 2, and while many are excited to see artists like Beyoncé, SZA, and others, the biggest question of the night might be whether Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will be there to support his girlfriend Taylor Swift?
Swift is up for six awards this year, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year, which she won last year, among others.
Will Travis Kelce Be at the Grammys With Taylor Swift?
According to TMZ, Kelce won’t be accompanying his girlfriend to the award show again this year.
“Looks like Taylor Swift will be rolling stag to this weekend’s Grammys … TMZ Sports has learned her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, isn’t making it out to Hollywood for the big event,” TMZ reported. “The Kansas City Chiefs star instead, sources familiar with the situation tell us, will be sticking with his team … as it continues its preparations for its Super Bowl matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans.”
This shouldn’t be a shock to anyone, considering that the Super Bowl will be played a week later as Kelce chooses to continue to prep with his team rather than leave them. Kelce faced the same situation when the Chiefs faced the San Fransisco 49ers when the Super Bowl was played in Las Vegas. Even though Kelce won’t be attending, Swift will have plenty of support.
Swift Will Be at the Super Bowl
Despite his absence, Swift will be in New Orleans for the Super Bowl, and she won’t be alone.
According to The US Sun, celebrity fans Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds, Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco, Sabrina Carpenter, and Ice Spice will all be in attendance.
Since the beginning of their relationship, Swift has been seen at Chiefs games. A former Chiefs cheerleader even reported on her Instagram post how the pair started a tradition after Chief games in Kansas City.
Swift would wait outside the Chiefs locker room for her man to come out. And while Kelce won’t be in L.A. for the Grammys, he will be there in spirit. Kelce went on tour with Swift last summer before training camp opened for the Chiefs
In an interview with “The Pat McAfee Show,” Kelce revealed that, yes, at times he is his girlfriend’s muse but tries not to intervene in her creative process.
“Let’s just say you’re hanging out, having a little dinner, and all of a sudden the creative juice sparks,” McAfee said. “The absolute beast that you’re sitting with, who is going to go down as maybe the most famous icon in the history of music, starts thinking, ‘Uhh, I like that.’ So, are you a motivator every single time?”
“C’mon now, you know it!” Kelce responded. “I’ll never chime in, but you already know, I’m here to support it. I’m here to see where it can go.”
And the feeling is clearly mutual from Swift.
