    Is Kendrick Lamar Married?

Lamar got engaged to Whitney Alford in 2015. The couple has known each other since they were teenagers. They met in high school and have been together since. In addition to being an esthetician and makeup artist, Alford is the founder of Love + Ethos, a non-profit organization that offers support to mothers facing systemic, economic and social challenges.

Alford, 37, has given background vocals in Lamar’s “King Kunta” and “Wesley’s Theory” songs from the “To Pimp a Butterly” album. She also featured in four tracks of Lamar’s 2022 album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.”

Lamar and Alford have two children, a daughter and a son. Their first child, Uzi, was born in July 2019. Lamar made her name public in his 2022 studio album.

The pair’s second child, son Enoch, was born shortly after. Lamar and Alford prefer to keep their lives private. A couple of years after the children were born, he posted about his fatherhood.

Lamar’s Performance at Super Bowl 59

This will be Lamar’s second Super Bowl appearance but his first time leading it. In 2022, he was a part of Dr. Dre’s all-star tag team, among other big names like Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent.

In his announcement, he says, “My name is Kendrick Lamar, and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl 59. Will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know there’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round twos. Let’s get it. I hope you won’t miss it. Meet me in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.”

He later advised the fans, saying, “Pull your best dress too, even if you’re watching from home.”

Lamar was born in Compton, California, and began rapping in elementary school. While he was a kid, his father, Kenneth “Kenny” Duckworth, worked at KFC, and his mother, Paula Oliver, a hairdresser, worked at McDonald’s.

Lamar first gained fans’ attention in 2010 when he released his mixtape “Overly Dedicated.” In 2011, he released his first album, Section.80, exclusively through iTunes. The song went on to become one of the most popular of that year.

Lamar’s mainstream success began with his second album, “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City,” which set a record by being the longest-charting non-compilation hip-hop album.

One testament to Lamar’s unwavering success in the industry is that he has won a total of 17 Grammys, compared to his rival Drake, who has only managed to win five. Lamar also collaborated with Taylor Swift on the popular song “Bad Blood” and even re-recorded it so that she could claim it several years later.
