‘The Giants Need a QB’ – New York Fans Recruit Matthew Stafford After 2x Pro Bowler Makes Decision on NFL Future

Giants fans on social media recruited Matthew Stafford for their team after the latest update on the veteran QB’s uncertain future with the LA Rams.

Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams are coming off a season in which they exceeded everyone’s expectations. The Rams won the NFC West and also pulled off an upset over the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round.

They eventually lost a thriller in the Divisional Round to the Philadelphia Eagles but should be proud of how their season went. However, like every season since Stafford’s arrival in Los Angeles, there is uncertainty about him playing for the team next season.

Fans React to Latest Update on Matthew Stafford’s Future

Per a recent report from Ian Rapoport, Stafford is not planning to retire and wants to play next season. He still has two years left on his current contract but is not sure whether the Rams will continue with him.

The NFC West team could release Stafford by taking a dead cap hit of $49.33 million (pre-June 1) — a release in 2026 would save the team $31 million as opposed to the $300K they’d get in 2025.

The New York Giants are a team that needs a quarterback, and their fans on social media started recruiting Stafford after the latest update on his future with the Rams.

Here are some of the reactions:

“The Giants should be all over this over any Darnold talk if they’re out on Shadeur,” said a fan.

Another fan added, “Stafford is one of my favorite quarterbacks. Having him on the Giants would be a dream.”

“Stafford and Cooper Kupp to the Giants,” wrote a fan.

One fan added, “Gmen trade for Stafford. Trade down to 6 with Raiders, they get Shedeur, Giants get [Mason] Graham. Giants then trade back into the 1st to get [Jaxson] Dart.”

As mentioned earlier, a similar buzz is created around Stafford after the end of every Rams season. It would be quite surprising if the Rams move off from him, as their players showed last season that they are ready to make a run at the Super Bowl.

The Rams have a great group of young players on defense who are only going to get better next season. As a result, the team will likely prioritize competing for the Super Bowl for the remaining duration of Stafford’s contract with the team.

But that doesn’t mean Giants fans won’t continue to put a little pressure on him and know he’d be welcome in the Big Apple.
