21-year-old Utah native Jaxson Dart is ready to embrace any challenge as New York franchises increase interest in the former Ole Miss QB.

Jaxson Dart had a good outing at the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl practice, and NFL teams are taking notice. The former Ole Miss quarterback has already drawn early interest from the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, with some scouts reportedly ranking him ahead of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders.

Jaxson Dart Addresses ‘Big City’ Concerns ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

Questions have been thrown about how Dart will transition from Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin’s offense to the pros, but the 21-year-old Utah native is ready to embrace any challenge. Following an impressive practice, Dart spoke to reporters about his future and addressed whether he sees himself as a “New York” kind of guy.

“Am I?” Dart said with a laugh. “Nah, I’m not scared of the big city. Not at all. I loved New York. Visited there a lot growing up. Honestly, that’s not even in the back of my mind—I think it’s a great organization and would love to play for them.”

The comment was ambiguous, as both the Giants and New York Jets could be in the quarterback market in April. With the Giants holding the No. 3 overall pick and the Jets sitting at No. 7, the buzz around Dart’s potential fit in the Big Apple is growing.

Dart put together a stellar 2024 campaign, throwing for 4,279 yards and adding 495 rushing yards while accounting for 32 total touchdowns and only six interceptions. Football analysts see him as a possible late-first or early-second-round selection. Still, they are concerned about how he’ll handle NFL-level pressure after operating in a quarterback-friendly system at Ole Miss.

Still, NFL executives believe his blend of athleticism and arm strength makes him an intriguing prospect. Both the Browns and Giants are eyeing long-term quarterback solutions, and Dart’s NFL Draft stock will be crucial in shaping their plans.

It makes sense for the Giants to take a quarterback early. However, head coach Brian Daboll and the Giants front office may consider using their top pick elsewhere and circling back for a QB later.

Meanwhile, the Jets’ quarterback situation remains unclear as new head coach Aaron Glenn evaluates the future of Aaron Rodgers. Even the Miami Dolphins have emerged as a potential landing spot, with GM Chris Grier reportedly interested in securing a quality backup for Tua Tagovailoa.

Dart has a golden opportunity to boost his stock at the Reese’s Senior Bowl and NFL Combine. Whether it’s New York, Cleveland, or another QB-needy team, his performance over the next few months will determine where he lands in the 2025 NFL Draft.
