Chiefs Star Chris Jones Issues Bold 8-Word Message as Kansas City Attempts To Make NFL History With 3-Peat

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones had a bold message for NFL fans ahead of Super Bowl 59 against the Eagles.

Making it to the Super Bowl has become a routine for the Kansas City Chiefs. Defensive end Chris Jones and Co. will be attending their fifth Super Bowl in six years on Sunday, Feb. 9, having won three of the previous four attempts.

Kansas City’s dynasty, led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has no intentions of stopping before scripting history in Super Bowl 59, and Jones is geared up to finish the season on a high.

Chris Jones’ Message for Super Bowl 59

As the Chiefs prepare for the final game of the season, Jones took to Instagram to send out a bold message to the NFL world.

“Ain’t no plan B, this s*** gone work,” the six-time Pro Bowler wrote.

The Chiefs’ defense has shown the ability to flip the switch in important situations come playoff time. Kansas City struggled to stop the run for much of the AFC Championship Game, recording its third-worst EPA per rush (-0.10) of the season. Nevertheless, they generated three critical stops on 3rd-and-1 or 4th-and-1, as well as a pair of two-point conversions.

Likewise, the Chiefs have a 44.6% non-blitz pressure rate in the playoffs, compared to 32.2% in the regular season.

After some shaky weeks and midseason questions, the Chiefs appear to be peaking ahead of the Super Bowl. That’s a familiar story and could result in a familiar ending in February as well.

Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce also lauded the defensive unit after a thrilling win over the Bills, saying, “I love this defense, man…They’re so sound, and they play their tails off. They throw their heart out there on the field every single week all the way until the end, and you saw that tonight.”

The Chiefs are aiming to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls. They’ve won three of the last five and will already be the first NFL team to play in five Super Bowls over a six-season span. It’s the shortest span between five Super Bowl appearances, surpassing the New England Patriots.

Mahomes revealed his plans after the game, saying, “I’ll have a good night tonight, but after that, we’ll be right onto focusing on the Eagles… This is a great football team. We faced them in the Super Bowl a few years ago. They’ve added players and gotten better. It’ll take our best to win.”

It’s going to be a fierce and exciting contest when the Chiefs meet the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 in what could be a historic day.
