The Alabama Crimson Tide and their quarterback Jalen Milroe’s season ended at the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Eve. With that, the preparations for the 2025 NFL Draft began for the junior.
As the NFL‘s official draft process draws closer, many pundits and analysts, including Cleveland radio analyst Tony Grossi, are discussing the quarterback’s draft stock and where he might land.
Radio Personality Discusses Alabama QB Jalen Milroe’s Draft Stock
Grossi has long been vocal about Milroe’s talents and believes the quarterback could be a Day 1 pick.
On the Jan. 28 episode of “ESPN Cleveland,” Grossi said, “He’s gonna move up. I tell you they’re not gonna get him in the second round, he will be a first-round pick.”

Grossi also thinks that Milroe might be the top choice for the Cleveland Browns, who hold the No. 2 and the No. 54 picks in the current NFL Draft order.
“I think he’s the odds-on favorite,” Grossi said. “He’s been compared to Jalen Hurts. That’s the organization that Andrew [Berry, the Browns’ general manager,] adores. Anything they do, he thinks is the right thing. So there’s Jalen Hurts, but he’s bigger. Dane Brugler, NFL Draft analyst, says he could be an NFL running back if he just became a running back.”

The Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine are two places where the signal caller can elevate his draft stock. It’ll be worth watching whether the analyst’s prediction comes true.
Pro Football Network’s latest seven-round NFL mock draft by Matthew Cannata sees Milroe selected at No. 34 overall by the New York Giants.
Cannata’s analysis of Milroe reads, “Jalen Milroe stands out as the most athletic quarterback in this draft, boasting a cannon for an arm and elite athleticism — rivaling even last year’s No. 1 pick, Caleb Williams. However, his accuracy in the 10-19-yard range needs improvement. If he sharpens his short and intermediate passing, Milroe’s game will be complete.
“For now, his raw athleticism lets him outrun SEC linebackers, while his arm strength can deliver strikes to receivers with minimal separation. Development is key, but his natural gifts already set him apart.”
Milroe threw for 2,844 yards for 16 touchdowns on a 64.3% completion rate and also gained 726 yards for 20 scores as a rusher. The QB is also an academic standout, winning the 2024 William V. Campbell trophy and Pop Warner College Football Award.
