NFL fans have been watching closely as two of Deion Sanders’ children, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, prepare for the 2025 NFL. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders is viewed as one of the top players in the draft and is projected to be drafted within the top five.
However, Shilo — a safety — is much more of an unknown commodity. He is projected to be drafted but much later in the draft. Fans reacted to some of Shilo’s practice footage.
Fans React to Deion Sanders’ Son Shilo Sanders’ Football Skills at the Shrine Bowl
Shilo is one of 100 players participating in the East-West Shrine Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. ET. He will play on Team West and try to raise his draft stock.
While Shilo has been an effective player throughout his college career, he has not emerged as a star like his brother. As a result, some fans believe he doesn’t have the talent to get drafted, and some think the only reason he will be drafted is because his father is Coach Prime.
On Jan. 28, a clip of Shilo participating in practice before the Shrine Bowl was posted on X. In the clip, Shilo is beaten on a play by Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Sam Brown Jr. Fans reacted to this clip, criticizing Sanders for his play.
“Getting put in a blender,” one fan wrote.

“Sanders is straight f***ing a**. Team got better when he got hurt,” one fan commented.
“Shilo is 1. Bad 2. A safety, not to take away from this crispy ass route but just something to keep in mind,” one fan added.

While most fans were still critical, some fans pointed out that Shilo was running drills as a DB, not as a safety which is his natural position.
“In Shilo’s defense he’s a safety. If he could cover on the line he would’ve been a CB his whole career. People expect him to be his dad,” one fan wrote.

“Shilo is a safety why do they have him doing db drills lol,” one fan commented.
“Shilo isn’t a cover safety we all know this. Put him in the box and let him head hunt,” one fan added.

Shilo is projected to be drafted late in the 2025 NFL Draft or an undrafted free agent. However, it will be interesting to see if the influence of Coach Prime helps him get picked higher in the draft.
