Shilo Sanders Gets Last-Minute Tips From Coach Prime

Sanders’ father, the Colorado head coach, is seen in a video uploaded on X (formerly knwon as Twitter) at the East-West Shrine Bowl practice session. Coach Prime, a legendary NFL player, can be heard providing some last-minute tips and guidance as his son enters the indoor gridiron. Have a look:

In the 2024 season, Sanders put up average stats, recording 67 tackles (45 solo), one sack and one forced fumble. However, his season was marred with injuries, including a fractured elbow early on in the season. Nonetheless, Coach Prime’s son has always shown a positive attitude to put in the grunt work and learn from his mistakes. He could be an asset to any franchise that takes a bet on him in the 2025 NFL Draft.

2025 NFL Draft: Where Does Sanders Project?

Sanders’ 2024 season at Colorado drew attention, partly because of his inconsistent performances and partly because of the Sanders family tag that he carries. While he’s not exactly a top prospect like his younger brother, Shedeur Sanders, the Colorado safety can be a player who can bolster the roster of NFL teams looking to improve their defense.

Experts believe that Sanders might be selected in the middle to late rounds, most likely on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. The son of a Hall of Famer, he has a strong family line, a great football IQ, and a physicality that make him a desirable prospect. He was selected by the Carolina Panthers in Round 7 with the 229th pick in PFN’s latest seven-round NFL mock draft.

Although Sanders’ technique, especially in man coverage, still needs work, his high football intellect and ability to understand the game are considered attributes that could make him an asset to any NFL team.

The Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks, and the Buffalo Bills could be a potential landing spot for the Colorado man as safety-needy teams, or he could see himself in a packaged deal with his QB brother, who’s being targeted by the Las Vegas Raiders, Tennesse Titans, and the New York Giants, among several others.

Sanders’ performance in the East-West Shrine Bowl will likely affect his draft stock and his Sanders-family hype. A successful performance in this all-star game could raise his standing, giving him another chance to demonstrate his abilities against elite opponents.
