NFL Insider Dianna Russini: ‘It’s All Tom Brady’ in Las Vegas

Though Brady only owns a minority stake in the Raiders, Russini recently shed light on his growing influence within the organization. “Let’s just start with making it really clear that Tom Brady is running everything in Vegas. It’s all Tom Brady,” Russini revealed on the Jan. 24 episode of “The Ryen Russillo Podcast.”

According to Russini, Brady’s fingerprints are on every major decision within the franchise, from personnel moves to cultural shifts, further proving his role as more than just a minority owner.

Brady’s Influence Looms Large as Raiders Reshape Front Office, Coaching Strategy

The Raiders made a move this week, bringing John Spytek in as their new general manager. Spytek, who overlapped with Brady for all three of his seasons in Tampa, Fla., brings years of experience and a connection to the legendary quarterback. This hire, paired with the hiring of head coach Pete Carroll, hints at Brady’s growing influence within the struggling organization.

The Raiders’ decision to bring in Carroll, 73, has raised eyebrows. Carroll, the NFL’s oldest head coach, might be a transitional figure in a larger strategy. Russini suggested this could be a stepping stone in a longer-term plan potentially orchestrated by Brady.

“I could totally see this being a situation where this is a placeholder,” Russini said. “Where Pete comes in, straightens it up, cleans up some of the mess that was left behind, gets this thing on the right track, and hey, if he has success with it, great, let’s run this thing out until he’s 80. But if he can at least get this thing up on its feet, then maybe in a year or two, the hot coordinator can come in, and Brady can then go get his guy.”

With Brady’s influence over key decisions, it’ll be intriguing to see how the Raiders go about addressing their quarterback situation. Owning the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, according to the current NFL Draft order, Las Vegas faces a monumental decision in a market devoid of marquee free-agent quarterbacks.

Brady Integrates TB12 Diet, Training Program at Raiders

Another aspect of Brady’s growing involvement is the reported integration of his TB12 program into the team’s operations. “I think there’s some rumors, some chatter — I’m telling you, it’s all Tom Brady there. I mean, even his own TB12 programs are being installed, so to speak,” Russini said.

Developed by Brady and his trainer, Alex Guerrero, in 2013, TB12 is a holistic approach to health and fitness designed to maximize athletic performance and longevity. The program, which combines personalized nutrition, functional strength training, hydration, and recovery strategies, famously helped Brady maintain elite-level performance well into his 40s.

At its core, the TB12 diet emphasizes anti-inflammatory and alkaline foods, prioritizing whole, organic ingredients. It limits processed foods, dairy, gluten, and sugar while encouraging lean proteins, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats. Hydration is also paramount, with recommendations to drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily.

The training component of TB12 focuses on pliability, lengthening, and softening muscles through resistance bands, targeted exercises, and manual therapy. This approach reduces injury risk and enhances mobility, crucial for athletes who aim to perform consistently. Recovery is equally essential, emphasizing sleep, massage, and mindfulness to sustain long-term physical and mental health.

Brady’s implementation of the TB12 program into the Raiders’ regimen signals a push toward his proven performance philosophy. It could help transform the team’s fitness culture and foster resilience and longevity for players looking to emulate Brady’s legendary career.

Players known to have followed the TB12 method include New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, former tight end Rob Gronkowski, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, and Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry of the NBA.
