MSN Slideshow New York Jets 7-Round NFL Mock Draft By Pro Football Network FacebookTwitterReddItFlipLinkedinEmail January 23, 2025 | 6:40 PM EST Share FacebookTwitterReddItFlipLinkedinEmail 1 of 9 The Jets are coming off a disappointing 5-12 season. They would fancy bolstering their squad with talented prospects. Let's look at what PFN predicted in their most recent 7-round mock. Most of the Jets secondary are unrestricted free agents and a new regime enters the fray in New York. With the top two cornerbacks off the board, we turn our attention to an elite safety prospect. Starks is a safety by trade but possesses a skill set that could see him survive as a boundary cornerback, which at his size makes him a ringer for Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey’s intelligence in coverage made him a potential safety candidate coming from college, and positionless defenses make a talent like Starks incredibly valuable because he can be anything from your center fielder to your slot cornerback to a box safety. Membou shouldn’t have to wait this long to hear his name called, but his loss is New York’s gain. They need a right tackle and Membou is a Feldman Freak for a reason. He also boasts the best resume of any blocker in the country. He went through an absolute gauntlet of outrageous NFL-caliber pass rushers in 2024 playing at Missouri, and he passed every unique test with flying colors. He faced and won against many of the names who’ve already heard their names called in this simulation. Just have Sauce Gardner show Igbinosun how to grab a hold of some jersey without getting penalized and the Jets secondary will be cooking with a blow torch. Quinn Ewers is a talented quarterback with impressive arm strength and can make effortless throws. He has got great accuracy and agility and excels in off-script plays and throw-on-the-run situations. His physicality and potential make him an intriguing prospect. A versatile receiver with exceptional quickness and the ability to create separation and throw windows. He has demonstrated contested-catch ability and smooth transitions. Noel can play both inside and outside, having done a great job in gadget plays and special teams. Jo’Quavious Marks is very elusive laterally and set up defenders well with head and torso angles. His explosive burst downhill and wide initial cuts cause problems for his opponents. Marks is a decisive runner and has an outstanding pass-pro feel. The Oregon linebacker is not the greatest prospect, but has the potential to emerge into solid rotational depth for an NFL team. Jacob Gideon has a full season of starting experience at guard, but he’s shifted to center late in his Western Michigan career with inspiring results. At the very least, he’ll be a coveted depth lineman, but at 6’2″, 295 pounds, Gideon’s upside at the fulcrum is undeniable.
