NFL Conference Championship Stats and Insights

    Washington Commanders

    • The Commanders will play in the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 1991. Only the Browns, who last appeared in a Championship Game in 1989, have endured a longer drought.
    • Washington went 4-13 (.235) last year, marking the 4th-worst win percentage in the season prior to making the Conference Championship Round.
    • Jayden Daniels:
      • 1st rookie to beat a No. 1 seed since Joe Flacco (2008)
      • 3rd rookie to win two road playoff games (Flacco and Mark Sanchez)
      • 1st rookie QB to ever have 275 passing yards and 50 rushing yards in a playoff win
    • Jayden Daniels became the first player in NFL history to record 15 rushes and 20 completions in a postseason game while averaging 9.5 yards per pass attempt.
    • Jayden Daniels became the first player in NFL history to record two passing touchdowns and 12 rush attempts without an interception in consecutive games.
    • Including the playoffs, there have been 15 instances this season where a team starting a rookie quarterback scored 34 or more points. The Commanders have accounted for seven of those games.

    Philadelphia Eagles

    • The Eagles lost two games in September and have lost one game since (at Washington, Week 16). In that loss, Philadelphia became the first team to score 21 points in the first quarter in a losing effort since the 2019 Texans (Divisional Round at Chiefs).
    • Jalen Hurts is averaging 6.3 yards per pass attempt in the postseason, a noticeable drop from his 8.0 yards per attempt during the regular season.
    • Saquon Barkley has more rushing yards on touchdowns against the Rams this season (282) than any other player has for the entire season overall.
    • The Eagles have forced a turnover in 11 of their past 13 games, including multiple turnovers in four of their past five contests. This comes after a streak of three consecutive turnoverless games in Weeks 6-8.

    Buffalo Bills

    • The Bills lost four road games during the regular season. Only four Super Bowl champions in the 2000s have done the same: the 2018 Patriots, 2012 Ravens, 2010 Packers, and 2006 Colts.
    • There have been five instances of a quarterback recording four games in a single season (including playoffs) with multiple rushing touchdowns and at least 20 pass attempts.
    • The Bills have scored on at least 55% of their possessions in six games this season, with four of those coming against playoff teams.
    • Buffalo allowed Baltimore to convert 70% of their third downs, the fourth-highest rate the Bills have allowed since 2000 and the highest in a game they ended up winning.
    • Allen has completed over 72% of his passes in both playoff victories, matching his total of three such games during the regular season.
    • Overs are 5-2 in Buffalo’s past seven games, cashing last week by half a point with Baltimore’s final touchdown.

    Kansas City Chiefs

    • Since 2018, the Chiefs have received nine roughing the passer calls in the playoffs (including the Will Anderson Jr. call on Saturday), while the rest of the NFL combined has totaled 18 such calls, with no team receiving more than two.
    • Patrick Mahomes has thrown a total of three touchdown passes in his last two Championship Games (3.7% of his attempts), compared to three in each of his first four appearances (8.4%).
    • Saturday marked the 10th time this season the Chiefs scored on at least half of their possessions, finishing five-of-nine against Houston.
    • Opponents have converted at least half of their third-down attempts in four consecutive games against the Chiefs, including the Texans, who went 10-of-17.
    • In the last two games where their starters played extended snaps, the Chiefs have managed just 119 rushing yards on 42 carries (2.83 yards per carry).
