Buffalo Bills fans are showing us that there’s more to football than just big hits and touchdowns. In a heartwarming turn, they’ve gone above and beyond to support Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews, proving their loyalty and kindness can help use football as a force for good.
This fanbase is restoring a little faith in humanity with a gesture that goes way beyond the Divisional Round, where Buffalo beat Baltimore 27-25.
Buffalo Bills Fans Score Big Win With Support for Mark Andrews’ Charity

The fanbase threw their support behind the Breakthrough T1D organization, which focuses on curing Type 1 diabetes and improving the lives of diabetics.

It’s heartening to see fans putting aside the usual rivalry, coming together for something far greater than touchdowns and trophies. “Definitely a good initiative to be kind,” one fan wrote, adding that this act of generosity was much-needed in today’s world.
“Before you guys send hate towards Mark Andrews, remember you aren’t just attacking a player but a father, a husband and a Christian,” another fan commented. “One bad game shouldn’t take away what he’s brought to this franchise and we should be looking forward to seeing him continue to lead our Ravens!”
The whole episode highlights the importance of remembering the humanity behind the game.
Bills Mafia has long been known for its wild tailgates and rabid support for their team, this gesture is a reminder that the NFL community is capable of coming together for the right reasons.
Jim Palmer Backs Mark Andrews, Reminds Fans of Redemption
Andrews had a weekend to forget, complete with a costly fumble and a crucial dropped two-point conversion in the Ravens’ Divisional Round loss to the Bills. The disastrous fourth quarter left a sour taste in Baltimore fans’ mouths and could tarnish his legacy, despite impressive contributions during the regular season.
However, MLB Hall of Famer Jim Palmer took to social media to defend Andrews, drawing on his career struggles to offer some perspective. “Different sport, but I can relate to what Mark Andrews is going through,” Palmer wrote. “The Ravens don’t get to play Buffalo if he doesn’t contribute in a huge way all season. And then the fumble and dropped pass in the end zone. The human element of sports and life, stuff happens and you move on.”
Palmer, a Cy Young Award winner and six-time All-Star, recalled his tough moment from 1982 when his poor performance cost the Orioles a playoff berth.
“I did not pitch well in the last game of 1982. If we win, the O’s go to the playoffs, I get another Cy Young, and I get out-pitched by a future Hall of Famer, Don Sutton. As O’s fans know, in 1983 we were World Champions. The Ravens will move on, and Mark will be there to help them win.”
It was a nice reminder that even the best have their bad moments, and redemption is always possible. With Bills fans and Baltimore legends defending him, Andrews’ work isn’t done — on or off the field.
