The comedic relief lasted all of one second. After his elimination, he repeated “I wasn’t ready.” over and over again. In 2002, Hurricane Helms found himself in the ring with Steve Austin and Triple H. Rather than back down, he put each of hands around their necks to attempt a double choke slam. The look on the faces of Stone Cold and The Game says it all. As you might have guessed, it didn’t end well for the Hurricane. It’s not the best look that a male superstar took one of the limited spots in the women’s Royal Rumble. But seeing Santina Marella enter the ring and be subsequently eliminated by the true superstars of the women’s division was certainly funny. Obviously, there’s nothing funny about injuries. Looking back on it now, though, this was a really funny moment. It’s not enough that John Cena and Batista accidentally managed to eliminate each other at the exact same time. That forced Vince to march to the ring to settle the situation. In sliding into the ring, he somehow managed to tear both his quads. Unable to stand, Vince was directing traffic while sitting, with everyone quite confused at the time. This may not have been meant to be funny, but come on. The same guy entering the Royal Rumble three times? That’s hilarious. Mick Foley entered as Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love. However, even having triple the chances as everyone else, Foley was unable to emerge victorious. Late career R-Truth has had a really humorous “doesn’t know what’s going on” gimmick. In 2016, R-Truth wasn’t even one of the entrants for the Rumble. That makes what he did even funnier. Truth ran to the ring, grabbed a ladder, set it up, and climbed to grab the title hanging above…except, obviously, there was none. In the middle of the 2000 Rumble, Grand Master Sexay found himself alone in the ring with Rikishi. Right as they were about to battle each other, Scottie Too Hottie entered the Rumble and the three members of Too Cool put on a dance show in the middle of the ring. Unquestionably the funniest Royal Rumble moment of all time. In 2018’s Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, Titus O’Neil ran down the entrance ramp and tripped. That would be funny enough on its own. Instead, Titus slid almost completely underneath the ring. WWE couldn’t plan that if they tried.
