NFL fans have taken to social media to call for the firing of veteran broadcaster Tony Romo after his performance in the Buffalo Bills’ victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Romo, the former NFL quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, has been a sports broadcaster since he retired in 2017 and he has been one of the faces of the league’s media over recent years.
That said, his performance in the Bills’ playoff win over the Ravens has led fans to call him out on social media.
One fan thought his performance was so poor that he should be fired, saying, “Can they fire Tony Romo yet? S**t is horrid to listen to.”
Another fan said that he should retire from broadcasting, saying, “Tony Romo please retire as a commentator no one likes you.”

One fan pointed out that he had been speaking very highly of the Bills, saying, “Tony Romo has not stopped propping up the Bills.”
While there was a lot of criticism over his performance as a commentator in this game, he also received backlash for an opinion he gave regarding the MVP race. Romo voiced his support for the NFL to hold off on MVP voting until after the Bills faced off with the Ravens in the playoffs as Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson were the top two candidates for the award.
One fan responded to this with more backlash, saying, “Tony Romo talking about holding off the MVP voting until the Ravens Bills game next week like Lamar didn’t beat them 35-10 in the regular season.”

While it is a regular-season award, Romo made a valid point, which a lot of other fans seemed to agree with.
“The fact that the outcome of Bills-Ravens next weekend will not have an impact on the MVP winner is asinine. We need to alter the voting timeline to include the playoffs through championship Sunday,” said Jared Smith, an analyst on FOX Sports Radio.

Though it may take away from the award being a “regular-season award,” Romo makes a good point.
It would be hard to watch Jackson take home the MVP after Allen outplayed him head-to-head on the big stage, but that’s the reason there are playoff and regular-season awards.
