Dalton Schultz’s hard work didn’t pay off in the form of a Divisional Round win. His team was defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs in a game that has been discussed ad nauseam.
However, the reality is that the Houston Texans are eliminated. Fans and players felt that pain; however, Schultz’s wife Lauren was there to comfort him.
Dalton Schultz’s Wife Lauren Stands Strong After Texans Loss
The Texans lost the playoff contest 23-14 at Arrowhead Stadium. This loss has been especially bitter for Houston due to the controversial referring calls against them. While several of the Texans players have spoken their minds, the tight end has stayed tight-lipped about it.
The 28-year-old shone through for the Texans, grabbing four passes for 63 yards and solidifying himself as one of the top receiving options for C.J. Stroud. However, all that was in vain for this year’s Divisional Round playoff game.
After being eliminated, Schultz chose to stay close to his loved ones, especially his wife. Still wearing his Texans gear, he embraced his wife and kissed her head while she hugged him. His wife posted this emotional picture on her Instagram story.
The Texans’ season has officially ended, and the Texans tight end will have ample time to cool off and regroup for the next season.
Schultz Can’t Help but Praise Travis Kelce
Despite the heartbreaking, controversial loss, Schultz didn’t forget to pay his respects to one of the greatest tight ends in the game. After the contest, while the players were shaking hands, Schultz disclosed his emotions to Kelce face-to-face.
“You are a walking legend, man. A walking legend,” Schultz said. Kelce ended the game with seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Kelce has taken his team to a seventh consecutive AFC Championship Game and awaits their next opponents, which will be decided on Sunday, Jan. 19, between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills.
