Commanders Fan Kevin Durant Gives Annoyed 10-Word Response to Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs Mocking Him With TD Celebration

Kevin Durant was just trying to enjoy his Washington Commanders when Jahmyr Gibbs rubbed a Lions TD in his face with a call back.

There may not be much love between NBA superstar Kevin Durant, a fan of the Washington Commanders, and Detroit Lions running back and NFL star Jahmyr Gibbs. Durant was none too happy with Gibbs’ touchdown dance during the Lions’ playoff game against the Commanders, but it may not have been because he was taking offense.

Jahmyr Gibbs Did Kevin Durant’s Iconic Dance After TD

After scoring against the Commanders, Gibbs did a dance that Durant is well-known for, having performed it pre-game with the Golden State Warriors in a viral video.

Durant caught wind of Gibbs’ antics and called him out during the game in response via his personal X (formerly known as Twitter) account, writing, “I’m already sick of [Gibbs]. Move around somewhere bro damn.”

For reference, Gibbs made a pretty solid impression of Durant, and all indications are that he wasn’t mocking the NBA superstar when he did Durant’s dance before the game started.

Durant is a Washington, D.C., native, so it checks out that he is a fan of the Commanders, and hence does not appreciate Gibbs doing what he did. While Gibbs is starting his impressive NFL career as a running back, Durant has turned into one of the most accomplished players both in his era and in NBA history.

Starting his career in 2007, Durant has won two NBA championships, won the league’s Most Valuable Player Award in 2014, won two NBA Finals MVP awards, made 14 All-Star teams, and made 13 All-NBA appearances.

Gibbs hasn’t accomplished nearly as much, but he just started his NFL career in 2023 and has made two Pro Bowl appearances in 2023 and 2024. He also co-led the league in rushing touchdowns this past season. It’s fair to say that he is one of the best running backs in the NFL.

Like Durant, Gibbs has played a role in his team’s success. The Lions entered the game as the No. 1 seed in the NFC. However, Gibbs may have jinxed the Lions by doing Durant’s dance.

The Lions-Commanders Divisional Round game was a shootout, and the Commanders led most of the game. The Commanders pulled off the upset, one of the biggest surprises in the NFL playoffs.

If there’s one person who is happy with the Commanders getting the win, it is Durant — and that would be for more reasons than just beating the Lions. The last time the Commanders appeared in the NFC Championship Game was 1991.

After the Commanders pulled out the win, Durant got the last laugh:
