One of the last great American tennis players, Pete Sampras was utterly dominant in the 1990s. He won 45 matches down under, including two titles. One of just two players on this list without an Australian Open title, and the only one to never make a final, Tomas Berdych was always competitive, accumulating 47 victories in Australia. One of the most dominant players of the 1980s, Ivan Lendl amassed 48 Australian Open victories, including back to back titles in 1989 and 1990. Arguably the greatest American men's tennis player in history, Andre Agassi loved playing in Australia. It was his best grand slam, by far, as he won 48 matches, going a perfect 4-0 in finals. The Australian Open has never seen a stretch of more dominance from a player without ever winning than Andy Murray. From 2010-2016, Murray made five finals appearances, losing all of them. Along the way, he racked up plenty of wins, propelling him to 51 all time. Making an impressive five Australian Open finals requires plenty of victories. Stefan Edberg totaled 56 of them along the way, ultimately capturing two titles. The top three on this list are exactly who you'd expect. Rafael Nadal is the greatest clay court player of all time, but he also held his own in Australia. Nadal won 77 games en route to six finals appearances and two championships. The undisputed greatest tennis player of all time, Novak Djokovic is still going strong at 37 years old. He entered the 2025 Australian Open with 89 wins and a record 10 titles. It will take him at least two more tournaments to have a shot at catching the No. 1 guy on this list, though. Once considered the GOAT before Djokovic passed him, Roger Federer holds a record 102 victories at the Aussie Open. He made 7 finals along the way, winning 6 of them.
