2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter was involved in a mishap at the Polynesian Bowl that probably left some NFL GMs unnerved.
Travis Hunter Slips During Touchdown Celebration, Leaves NFL Fans in Dismay
While Hunter didn’t take the field on Saturday, he served as an honorary captain for Team Makai. Team Makai secured a 28-21 victory over Team Mauka on the back of a stupendous touchdown play from Dakorien Moore.
Moore snagged a deep ball thrown his way before dodging and weaving through two defenders for the touchdown. Hunter ran in from the sidelines to join the celebrations but inadvertently slipped while jumping up to meet Moore in the air.
He ended up taking Moore’s footing out while sliding his way through the end zone. Moore had to jump up in the air, ending up on his backside before Hunter got him up. Luckily for all parties involved, the 21-year-old Hunter was able to stop at just the right time and regain his balance, while the 17-year-old Moore, although shaken up, looked alright after the event.
Every NFL Team was nervous watching Travis Hunter during this Touchdown Celebration 😂

A few fans joked that the rivalry between Colorado and Oregon could have been a factor in Hunter’s actions. Dakorien Moore is slated to play for the Ducks next year.
Forget that, Colorado taking cheap shots at Oregon. Leave Moore alone🤣

Colorado really is that petty they would try to hurt the Ducks future star.

A few fans noted Hunter’s quick reaction as he tried to regain his balance before hitting Moore during his slide.
Even the way Hunter avoids getting landed on while he’s falling is elite athleticism.
