Amon-Ra St. Brown’s Other Half: Brooklyn Adams

For anyone tuning into “Receiver” on Netflix religiously, it is almost impossible to miss Brooklyn Adams. Longtime friend and confidant, the two have been together since high school and she plays a critical role in allowing Brown to juggle between his professional and personal life.

A relationship that began all the way back as sophomores at Servite High School in Anaheim, California, saw its beginnings like any first-love high school story does, with an assignment for English.

On Receiver, Brown revealed, “We had a project and started talking then. By the end of my sophomore year, we started dating, and we’ve been together ever since.”

St. Brown’s parents met Adams not too long after when she was 16. According to his dad, John, he was protective of St. Brown and his dreams. However, Adams was different. “I found out she was a really special girl,” said John in an interview on the show. “You’re my daughter now.”

After high school, St. Brown went to college at USC, ultimately heading to the NFL. Adams, on the other hand, got into nursing school in Orange County. When St. Brown was drafted to Detroit, their relationship became long-distance.

“She tries to come to as many games as she can,” said St. Brown. Many a time, fans have seen glimpses of Adams in the stands, cheering on for her superstar beau.

    Who Are Brown’s Parents?

Amon-Ra St. Brown was born to Miriam and John Brown and comes from a family of athletes. While Miriam, a Leverkusen, Germany native is responsible for his academic development and fluency in English, French, and German, Brown gets his athletic gifts from his dad.

John, a two-time Mr. Universe bodybuilding champion and three-time Mr. World in weightlifting was one of the best in the business at his peak and now serves as his sons’ trainer.

He is also the one responsible for adding “St.” to their name. According to ESPN, he believed “St. Brown” would look better on the back of their jerseys than just “Brown.”

“I explained that to them when they were probably like two years old,” John recalled. “I would tell them to line up. I would blow a whistle, and that meant toe to line. They all had to line up from the tallest to the shortest, standing like soldiers — hands at their sides, heads straight — while I spoke to them. There are moments in life when I need my sons’ undivided attention to explain certain things.”

Who Are Brown’s Brothers, Equanimeous and Osiris?

All three of the St. Brown brothers have Division I scholarships to their name. While Equanimeous and Amon-Ra both made it to the NFL, their middle brother Osiris didn’t pursue the same goal after a three-year career at Stanford.

The youngest Brown brother has often credited his older brothers as the motivation that kept him in the right space.

“Before we lifted, we would go play basketball, and we would do 1-on-1s,” Osiris said. “So my older brother [Equanimeous] would do 1-on-1s against my younger brother [Amon-Ra], and my older brother would obviously be way taller, older, and stronger. So he would do bully-ball on him, and I think that kind of always fueled his competitiveness.

“I feel like being around us all the time, we’ve always been older and stronger, so he always had to push harder to try and keep up with us, whether it be lifting, basketball, or anything.

Their eldest brother, Equanimeous spent last season as a wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints after stints with the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. Unfortunately, he is yet to log in consistent minutes in the league, tallying under 1,000 yards since being drafted in 2018.

Initially, the eldest Brown brother did not want his younger brother to end up on the Lions. Aside from their turnaround in the last couple of years, Detroit has been struggling mightily as a franchise for decades. So, it made sense for him to be worried for his elder brother.

“I’m not gonna lie. I didn’t want him to go to the Lions,” Equanimeous told ESPN. “I don’t see that as an organization that I want him to go to, but they need receivers, so hopefully he’ll go out there and play. You can’t choose what team you go to, but as a Packer, I’d rather him come to us. I’d rather we had drafted him, but now I’ve got to play him every year twice.

However, he did believe in the ability his brother had right from the jump.“He’s gonna be one of the, if not the, top receiver in the NFL for rookies this year,” Equanimeous said. “Just based on me knowing his mentality, him being drafted in the fourth round and him having a pretty good opportunity to play right away in Detroit with a decent quarterback. I think he’ll have a great year.”

The two NFL wide receivers and brothers even have a podcast together “St. Brown Podcast”, following the mold set by the likes of Travis and Jason Kelce where they cover the games and drop personal insights from time to time. They already have over 550 videos uploaded on YouTube.

Aside From Podcasting, What Are St. Brown’s Hobbies?

As we know, Amon-Ra St. Brown has a very popular podcast covering football alongside his wide receiver brother Equanimeous St. Brown. The two have been going on for years at this point and are available on practically every medium like Apple, Spotify etc.

But beyond his podcasting, St. Brown is also very academically inclined, thanks to his mother, and is fluent in French and German as well.

A major soccer fan, he even thought of pursuing a career in the field, going to Bayern Leverkusen’s summer camps, where his mother Miriam hails from.

A video game junkie, he can often be found in Call of Duty lobbies and occasionally streams his matches as well. Like his favorite athlete Kobe Bryant, who went 13th in the NBA Draft, St. Brown has defied all expectations as a fourth-rounder and turned into one of the best wide receivers in the game today.

What Is St. Brown’s Net Worth?

While there are no credible websites giving a perfect portrayal, it is generally assumed that Brown has a net worth close to $30 million. A large portion of that sum comes down to his NFL contracts, where he was once the highest-paid wide receiver in league history.

In late April 2024, St. Brown signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the Lions. At the time, this was the largest contract given to a wide receiver in league history. The deal included a $16 million signing bonus and $77 million in guaranteed money.

Subsequently, names like AJ Brown, Justin Jefferson, and CeeDee Lamb also got big money deals, sending him to fourth on the list of highest-paid receivers. Alongside Brown, fellow 2021-Draft class standouts Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith also got their own extensions.

However, St. Brown’s outshined both their deals thanks to the USC product’s production. He more than earned his long-term extension by helping Detroit reach its first Conference Championship appearance in over 30 years.

Beyond his NFL contracts, St. Brown has secured endorsement deals with brands like Adidas, Betterguards, Xbox, Little Caesars, Head & Shoulders, Cane Protein, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Saber Interactive, among others.

Recently, he was also featured as one of five receivers in Netflix’s series “Receiver.”

What Is Amon-Ra St. Brown’s Nationality?

Curious fans may have seen him sporting a German flag on his helmet. But, as an Anaheim Hills, California native, it might come across as odd until you learn about Brown’s upbringing.

“My mom is from Germany, so I’m half German,” St. Brown explained in an episode of “Inside the Den,” which followed him to Germany.

His mother, Miriam Brown née Steyer, is from Leverkusen, Germany. St. Brown is a German citizen, and he speaks German too.

St. Brown explained that the family visited Germany every summer when he was growing up. Even now, he travels there every offseason to visit his mother’s side of the family and hold a football camp in the country.

“It’s a lot of fun to be out there,” St. Brown said of Germany. “I kinda grew up out there, I was out there a lot as a kid. I know the area — I’m familiar with the people, the culture, and everything.”

Miriam met John during a fitness event in 1989 and the two immediately hit it off. Eventually, the two tied the knot and now have three kids, all of whom are German citizens and even know the local language, alongside English and French.

“It was nice to have them come here because it’s part of their culture,” John told Inside the Den while in Germany. “I’m from Compton — I never thought in my wildest dreams that my kids would be in Germany, talking German, playing with their in-laws.

“It was just a great honor. I just used to always sit back and watch them speak German and hang out with their grandad and their grandma, and just have fun. For me, it was nice just to witness that.”
