Everything To Know About David Montgomery And His Girlfriend

Keeping a relatively private life, we don’t know much about Tatum Causey except for the fact that she and Montgomery have been dating for some time now. Reportedly, she did her education at the Iowa State University in Ames.

The most known incident about Causey is her love for pets and the couple even had a dog together, by the name of Lola. Unfortunately, that love also landed her in some trouble.

Things took an awkward turn when Lola allegedly attacked a small dog on the sidewalk on June 4, 2023, in Michigan. Following this incident, Causey revealed how the dog ended up escaping from the house.

She stated, ”I go inside, literally opened the door and I said, ‘Anybody see Lola?”. Later, the victim’s dog owner complained about Lola severely attacking their pet’s leg resulting in serious injury.

During the court trial for the incident in late June 2023, Causey ended up pleading not guilty. Almost a month later, she dropped an emotional post revealing that Lola had passed away.

So far, there isn’t much known about the couple. However, fans speculate that the two might have met at Iowa University, and they even have a child together, a baby boy born on January 13, 2023. But, the duo have chosen to keep his name private, at least for the time being.

Who Are Montgomery’s Parents and Siblings?

Montgomery was born to Roberta Mitchell on July 6, 1997. From that point on till he made it to the NFL, his life was one of eternal hardships. A single mother of five, Mitchell had to support all her children and herself, working multiple shifts as a medical professional to keep things afloat.

Montgomery was the one who stepped forward to make a change, going from his high school position of quarterback to RB, gaining a college admission in the process. While there isn’t much known about his biological father, the running back does have a stepfather, Sam, who also worked double shifts to support the family.

From water to heat, the family had to struggle for every little thing. Then, disaster struck in 2015, when his brother Maceo was imprisoned for 15 years to life for murder. But, thanks to the support of his mother, Montgomery was able to emerge from the incident and develop into the superstar he is today.

For her invaluable contributions, he often credits her as his main inspiration. “My mom inspired me. She has been doing a lot; she has seen a lot of things. She overcame a lot of things and never complained and never quit. So my mom would be the one who inspired me the most.”

    What Is Montgomery’s Net Worth?

David Montgomery is already worth about $1.5 million, thanks in large part to his contracts in the NFL. In the midst of a three-year, $18 million deal with the Detroit Lions, Montgomery has done more than enough to escape the doldrums of his childhood.

In his five-year career, he has career earnings worth upwards of $12.5 million. But, it isn’t just his role as a superstar running back that has netted him this incredible wealth.

Alongside the league, Montgomery has also been savvy in business dealings and endorsements, partnering with the likes of Hyundai as a brand ambassador. Beyond his earnings, he firmly believes in giving back to the community as well, partnering up with teams like Fuel up to play 60.

    What Are Montgomery’s Hobbies?

Montgomery is a true footballer at heart, wishing to play until his body gives way. But, when he does finish up his playing career, he wants to start his next life, where he would like to be associated with children in some capacity.

If not running through defenders in the NFL, he wouldn’t mind trying his hand at teaching. Or, he even has half a mind to give cooking a try. During his high school days, when he was still playing the quarterback position, he was an Eagle Scout as well.

    Why Is Montgomery Called Knuckles?

In case you haven’t caught the most-watched team in the 2024 season, the Detroit Lions thrive with the one-two punch of Jahmyr Gibbs and Montgomery at the running back spot.

Their dynamic style has become a sight to behold for the No. 1 ranked offense in the league, according to PFN’s Offense+ metric. But it has also made them fan favorites who are more commonly referred to as the legendary speedster duo, Sonic & Knuckles.

Deriving from the ever-popular Sonic the Hedgehog series, Sonic used his speed and quickness whereas Knuckles relies on brute force and power.

Gibbs is more known for his agility, speed, and dual-threat capability as a rusher and receiver out of the backfield, whereas Montgomery is known more for his downhill running style and power-rushing prowess.

The situation became so popular that CBS even filmed a commercial of the two with the Sonic the Hedgehog team.

But beyond the laughs, Montgomery has become one-half of one of the most lethal duos in the league. Despite missing three games duo the injury, he tallied 775 yards on the season, even as the designated RB2.

Moreover, he added 12 touchdowns to the electric Lions offense, the second-highest mark of his career. Detroit has skated by without him on offense, but to complete a historic first-ever Super Bowl win, Dan Campbell will need his man back in the line-up.
