In December, Bill Belichick was the topic of discussion when the legendary NFL coach announced that he’d be the next head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels, moving down a notch to college football.
Bill Belichick’s Girlfriend Jordon Hudson Gives Assurance to UNC Faithful
Since then, speculation has been aplenty about Belichick’s future and his commitment to the University of North Carolina, given that he’s yet to sign the contract at Chapel Hill, N.C. However, his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, made a statement on social media that doubled down on his commitment to UNC.
Sharing a photo with Belichick, Hudson captioned it, “Pictured: two people who are overtly committed to [UNC football] 🩵🏈.”

The post comes as rumors of a potential NFL return for the six-time Super Bowl champion continue to heat up, particularly regarding the Dallas Cowboys. Belichick, who was announced as UNC’s head coach over a month ago, has only signed a term sheet proposal. this led to speculation that he could entertain an NFL offer, including one from the Cowboys.
However, UNC general manager Mike Lombardi has been shutting down these rumors at their roots. He posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday, Jan. 16, “Bill is recruiting in DC today and Baltimore tomorrow. His focus is on North Carolina football, hiring staff members, and developing the team. The NFL isnt a option, so please stop making it one. Thank you.”
Furthermore, on Tuesday, Jan. 14, Lombardi didn’t give air to any rumors of UNC being slow to act on plans because of Belichcik’s situation. Lombardi said in a post, “We are not slow, just being diligent, hired three people on Sunday, not one is nervous other than this erronous report. A completly fabracated story. thank you.”
The timing of Hudson’s post couldn’t be more strategic. The 24-year-old shared the photo in front of a Carolina blue backdrop, with Belichick sporting a matching blue tie. Hudson, holding a UNC-branded football, shows her support for Belichick’s tenure in Chapel Hill. The couple, who went public last year, appears to be united in their dedication to UNC despite lingering doubts about Belichick’s long-term plans.
One other point of contention regarding Belichick is that his current agreement with UNC includes a $10 million buyout if he leaves before June 1, dropping to $1 million after that date. The absence of a signed official contract does not give fans a positive vibe who once cherished Belichick’s arrival at UNC.
The Cowboys’ search for a new head coach has generated endless chatter, with Belichick’s name among several high-profile candidates. Mike McCarthy’s tenure in Dallas ended last week after five seasons, and owner Jerry Jones is exploring options ranging from college coaches like Deion Sanders to NFL veterans.
