The Dallas Cowboys signed quarterback Dak Prescott to a $240 million contract in Sept. 2024, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history. It’s safe to say Prescott did not prove worthy of the lucrative deal in the 2024 campaign, recording 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in eight games played. He led the Cowboys to a 3-5 record before undergoing season-ending surgery on his hamstring.
All this is to say, Dallas put itself in a position to compete for a Super Bowl in the immediate future. To pile on additional stress for the front office, the Cowboys must figure out a way to bring back superstar EDGE Micah Parsons or choose between him and WR CeeDee Lamb if unable to navigate through their rough cap circumstances.
With that situation looming, it may be smart for the Cowboys to land a reliable future Hall of Fame WR via trade.
NFL Analyst Predicts Cowboys To Land Davante Adams
Davante Adams is a six-time Pro Bowler on the New York Jets, coming fresh off his worst season since 2019. He finished the year with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns. There is plenty of speculation around veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ future in the NFL, as well as the Jets.
Rodgers and his longtime friend and star WR are seemingly a package deal, so it would make sense for Adams to see a change of scenery if Rodgers is not suiting up for New York next season.
NFL analyst Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report predicted the Cowboys to land Adams in exchange for a third and fifth-round pick in 2025.
“Davante Adams has looked for familiarity when he’s left one team for another,” Moton wrote. “If Adams isn’t able to play with either Rodgers or Carr, the veteran wideout could look to follow Mike McCarthy wherever he goes after his negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys fell apart on Monday. In 2014, the Packers drafted Adams with McCarthy as their head coach.”
Adams could fit as the perfect No. 2 WR in Dallas’ offense behind Lamb. Despite his most disappointing year of the 2020s, he is still a trusted threat in the short and intermediate game. The Cowboys have KaVontae Turpin and Brandin Cooks to take the top off defenses. Lamb is a force to be reckoned with on all three levels, and the Jets wideout could fill the missing piece in the receiving room.
“Adams may still be interested in the Cowboys, though,” Moton wrote. “Adams may see the Cowboys’ stable quarterback situation with Dak Prescott and Lamb as a big draw if he can pick his next destination. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may be open to a splashy trade to build around Prescott and find a complement to Lamb in the passing game.”
What do the #Packers NEED to focus on this offseason???

Adams’ future is almost as big a mystery as Rodgers’, so it’s tough to predict where he’ll suit up next season, but the fit in Dallas is certainly there.
