‘How About Deion Sanders?’ – Cowboys Fans Begin Campaign for Jerry Jones To Recruit Colorado Buffaloes HC

    Published on

Mike McCarthy is out as the Dallas Cowboys head coach, and fans are already naming Deion Sanders to be the successor for America's Team.

After five years with the Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy will no longer be the team’s head coach, and the franchise will be on the hunt for a new man to take his place.

Fans have one name on the tip of their tongues, and it’s current Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, a former Super Bowl winner with America’s Team.

Cowboys Fans Want Deion Sanders To Replace Mike McCarthy

McCarthy ended his tenure at the Cowboys with a 49-35 record (.583 win%), but his failures to make a deep playoff run led to owner/general manager Jerry Jones not extending his contract.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter shared this news on X (formerly Twitter).

“A Cowboys official now says Dallas and Mike McCarthy are ‘parting ways,’” Schefter tweeted.

Despite Coach Prime’s insistence that he sees his future in Colorado, Cowboys fans couldn’t help themselves and shared their wishes for Sanders in Texas.

“Deion, what do you think?” responded one fan.

“How bout Deion??” tweeted a fan.

    “Enter Prime,” added a fan.

“Coach Prime incoming,” tweeted a fan by tagging Sanders.

“Just thinking,” the DraftKings Sportsbook account replied with a picture of Sanders like several others.

Sanders Names the Only Way He Would Come to the NFL

Soon after the Buffaloes’ season ended, Sanders appeared on “Good Morning America,” with the 57-year-old stating that he is “99%” sure that this is the last time he has coached his sons.

However, the two-time Super Bowl champion built on this statement to name the only condition that could make him coach an NFL team.

“You know what? The only way I would consider it is to coach my sons,” Sanders said.

Both of Coach Prime’s sons — Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders — will be in the 2025 NFL Draft. Shedeur (quarterback) is expected to be a top pick, while Shilo (safety) projects to go somewhere during the later rounds.

Jones and the Cowboys know exactly what they must do to recruit Sander to AT&T Stadium. Only time will tell whether Jones follows through with this plan.
