Packers WR Depth Chart: Who Is Left After Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs Injuries?

    Published on

The Packers are quickly running out of wide receivers. Who's left after injuries to Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs in the Wild Card Round?

An already depleted Green Bay Packers wide receiver room suffered a pair of losses in the second half of their Wild Card Round matchup versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Who is still left to catch passes from Jordan Love after injuries to Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs?

    What Happened to Jayden Reed?

Reed was hurt after a 13-yard catch with 2:02 remaining in the third quarter. After a hit from Eagles safety Reed Blankenship, Reed stayed down holding his right arm and shoulder.

Reed appeared to be favoring his arm as he walked off the field to be examined by trainers. He eventually departed to the locker room.

The injury came shortly after a scary injury to Doubs, who the team declared questionable to return with a concussion. Doubs stayed down for an extended period of time and was helped to the locker room by a pair of staffers.

Doubs missed two games in Weeks 13-14 earlier this season with a concussion and had begun wearing a Guardian Cap on his helmet to assist in reducing his risk of further head injuries.

Reed’s Injury Latest Hit to Packers WR Group

With Reed and Doubs both out of the game, the Packers are missing their top three wide receivers. Green Bay lost Christian Watson in Week 18 after the third-year pro tore his ACL against the Chicago Bears.

With those three out, the Packers have three remaining healthy wide receivers on their active roster: Dontayvion Wicks, Malik Heath, and Bo Melton.

All three have played this year given Matt LaFleur’s tendency to rotate his wide receivers more than most coaches, but it’s a big dropoff from the starters, as those three combined for 57 catches, 603 yards, and seven receiving touchdowns during the regular season. For perspective, all three of Reed, Doubs, and Watson exceeded that yardage total on their own.

Green Bay also has tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave, as well as a healthy backfield. Still, the lack of wide receivers has the Packers rolling out a lineup seldom used all season.
