‘Overpaid and Overrated’ – NFL Fans Ridicule $55,000,000 Jordan Love As Packers QB Makes Massive Errors vs. Eagles

    Published on

Packers quarterback Jordan Love throwing two interceptions in the first half of Wild Card game against the Eagles sparked reactions from fans.

Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers played against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round. The Eagles came into this game with a record of 14-3 and were favored to win against the 11-6 Packers, who made the playoffs as the seventh seed in the NFC.

Love suffered an elbow injury in Week 18 against the Chicago Bears but was cleared to play against the Eagles. However, the injury seems to be still affecting him, as the star quarterback played poorly in the first half in Philadelphia.

Fans React to Jordan Love Throwing Interceptions vs. Eagles

Love completed 9/15 of his throws for 70 yards and two interceptions with a passer rating of 31.9 as the Packers’ offense failed to score a single point in the first half.

Fans on social media trolled the Packers quarterback, as his performance was completely unacceptable for a player who makes $55 million annually. Here are some of the reactions:

“Hurts > Love, never was a debate,” said a fan.

Another fan wrote, “Not even trolling, put in Malik Willis.”

“Is that Jordan Love out there or Drew Allar?” wrote a fan.

“Jordan Love is the most overrated QB in the NFL,” added a fan.

Love impressed everyone in his first season as the starting quarterback in Green Bay. He led the team to a big win in the Wild Card round against the Dallas Cowboys last season and also came close to getting past the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.

This past offseason, he was rewarded with a four-year, $220 million contract extension. The 26-year-old quarterback has the potential to become one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but his performance against the Eagles is a setback for the Packers franchise.

Love deserves criticism from fans as the same happened with Justin Herbert yesterday, who is from the same draft class. Hopefully, he will be able to play better in the second half.

The Packers Got the Worst Possible Matchup in the Wild Card Round

Green Bay lost three of its last five games of the regular season and slipped to the seventh seed in the NFC. Due to this, they got matched up to play the Eagles in the Wild Card, which was the worst-case scenario for them.

Considering the amount of injuries the Detroit Lions are dealing with, the Eagles are arguably the best team in the NFC. Moreover, the Packers came into this game with their quarterback dealing with an elbow injury and their WR1, Christian Watson, out due to an ACL injury.

The Eagles are primed to make a deep playoff run, and not many expected the Packers to win this game. However, Love’s performance in the first half was discouraging.

The Packers have started the game slowly throughout the season, and out of their 11 wins in the regular season, only two came against teams that made the playoffs.

Next year will be interesting for the Packers as their quarterback will be in his third season as a starter. There will be high expectations for him to play consistently excellent.
