Deion Sanders Receives Love From Players During Visit to Hula Bowl

The Hula Bowl is an all-star game featuring 100 of the top senior college football players in the nation. It is designed as a last chance for college players to show their talents to scouts and improve their NFL Draft stock before they start their professional careers.

Colorado has six players who are participating in the Hula Bowl this year, including DT Chidozie Nwankwo, DE BJ Green II, DT Shane Cokes, P Mark Vassett, OL Justin Mayers, and LB LaVonta Bentley.

After the visit, Sanders posted a video on his Instagram account. In the video, he can be seen greeting many of his players. The first player featured in the video is Vassett. Shortly after seeing Sanders, Vassett says:

    “Man, I miss you already.”

Sanders’ Players Will Try To Improve NFL Draft Stock at Hula Bowl

The players participating in the Hula Bowl are not often players who are expected to be drafted high in the NFL Draft. Those players will be focused on the NFL Scouting Combine. The players participating are usually fringe draft picks who could become late-round picks with a big performance.

As a result, two of Colorado’s biggest stars were not participating in the game, two-way star Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Both Hunter and Sanders are viewed as top picks in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

Sanders is viewed as one of the two best quarterbacks in the draft alongside Miami’s Cam Ward. The first three picks are held by the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants. All three teams could use a young quarterback, so it’s possible both players are gone inside the top three.

The New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars hold the fourth and fifth overall picks and both already have young quarterbacks. As a result, those are two teams that look like possible destinations for Hunter. However, fans will need to wait for the NFL Draft to find out where each team ends up.
