‘Dumbest Thing Ever’ – Craig Carton Calls Out Travis Kelce for NSFW Rant in Demand of Tough Playoff Opponents

On FS1's "Breakfast Ball," Craig Carton gave a passionate critique of Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce's fiery challenge to playoff opponents.

Travis Kelce just turned the playoff buzz into a full-blown circus with an unfiltered mic drop that had Craig Carton firing shots faster than a Mahomes bullet pass. Kelce didn’t hold back, demanding tougher opponents with language spicier than a postgame hot wing.

Carton came swinging, calling it the “dumbest thing ever.”

Craig Carton Claps Back at Travis Kelce’s Playoff Swagger

Carton didn’t pull any punches on FS1’s “Breakfast Ball,” ripping into Kelce’s bold playoff rant with a sharp takedown. “You don’t want every team’s best. You want the easiest possible road. Give me the seventh seed, I don’t want to play the Bills and the Ravens and the Eagles, whatever. Like that’s the dumbest thing ever,” Carton snapped.

He added, “You’re trying to do something that’s never been done before. Why would you want the hardest road possible?” The FS1 host made it clear he wasn’t buying Kelce’s “Mortal Kombat” bravado.

Kelce’s NSFW mic drop came on his “New Heights” podcast, where he shut down conspiracy theories suggesting the Kansas City Chiefs tanked against Denver Broncos to avoid facing the Cincinnati Bengals. The Chiefs, resting their starters in a 38-0 loss to Denver (a move that handed the team a playoff ticket), sparked accusations of ducking the Bengals.

But Kelce went full throttle in his defense, saying, “I ain’t scared of f***ing nobody. I wanted them in the playoffs. I want to slay every dragon one by one, like Mortal Kombat.” He doubled down, daring the NFL’s top dogs, AFC or NFC, to bring it on. His fiery delivery even included a Walmart parking lot challenge.

The Bengals, who missed the playoffs at 9-8, were no pushover despite their record. Joe Burrow’s offense ranked seventh in Offense+ (PFN’s offensive-based metric) and would’ve made any Wild Card matchup electric. While Denver got the nod, the Bengals were a more daunting opponent than their ranking suggested.

Love him or hate him, Kelce’s competitive spirit is undeniable. His NSFW soundbites may ruffle feathers, but they reflect a locker room mentality that thrives under pressure. While Carton questions the logic, Kelce’s swagger speaks to why he’s one of the NFL’s most electrifying players.

And speaking of sparks, it seems Taylor Swift may be calling for change in Kelce’s off-field game too.

Swift is calling the plays in her relationship with Kelce, and the superstar has one major goal in mind, pushing her NFL beau into the billionaire bracket. While Swift boasts a net worth of $1.6 billion, Kelce sits at a “modest” $90 million. Swift wants “his and hers” billions, aiming for a level playing field both on and off the scoreboard.

“Taylor Swift has her sights set on a new goal … propelling lover Travis Kelce into the billionaire bracket,” Acton wrote. “The superstar wants ‘his and hers’ billions for them so they are on a ‘level playing field.’ Swift is worth $1.6B, while Kelce has a little more catching up to do with his more modest $90M fortune.”

But financial touchdowns might not be the only thing on this power couple’s horizon. Kelce’s friend, former Bengals CB Pacman Jones, dropped a major prediction on his BetOnline YouTube show.

“I’m thinking this year they are going to get married after football (season)” Jones said. “I do see love there. So I do see a baby and everything. … I think they are in a real relationship. I know Trav, because he went to UC. His love (is genuine). When he says he is with somebody, he is with somebody.”

With Swift’s Eras Tour wrapped and family greenlighting wedding bells, fans are buzzing about Kelce’s next move. Whether it’s rings, records, or billions, this duo’s dynamic has all the makings of an MVP-worthy love story.
