Raiders Insider Clears the Air on Rampant Rumors of Bill Belichick Joining Tom Brady in Vegas

    Published on

An NFL insider cleared the air on the possibility of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick reuniting once again -- this time, with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Having Tom Brady by your side making footballing decisions must be a blessing. Especially for a franchise like the Las Vegas Raiders, who have been to the playoffs only twice in the last 22 years.

However, Brady comes with his biases as well. It has been reported that one of those could be his fondness for Bill Belichick and seeing him as the head coach of an NFL franchise once again. One Raiders insider, however, has thrown those possibilities aside.

Tom Brady Looks Up to Bill Belichick for Guidance at the Raiders

This season has been a monumental one for Brady. Apart from becoming a broadcaster for Fox, he also gained minority ownership with the Raiders. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is not shying away from the responsibilities that come with it.

It was reported that Brady is part of a committee that will hire a new HC after Antonio Pierce was let go. Brady’s conversations with Belichick after this report were suspected to be a job offer.

However, insider Vincent Bonsignore lifted the curtain on the entire matter on X (formerly Twitter). “The sense I’m getting on Raiders/Bill Belichick per sources: The talks were more about Tom Brady picking Belichick’s brain on search process/traits, etc, rather than trying to bring him to LV as the head coach,” he tweeted.

Late in 2024, Belichick trekked into unknown territory by becoming the head coach of North Carolina. This is the 72-year-old’s first-ever college gig.

Brady’s Ex-Teammate Reveals QB’s Mindset for HC at the Raiders

Rob Gronkowski has spent several years catching balls from Brady with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his recent appearance on “The Kay Adams Show,” he unveiled things that Brady would be looking for in a HC for the Raiders.

“I feel like Tom’s going to want an offensive-minded coach,” Gronkowski said. “I mean, he loves defense. He knows defense wins championships and all. But with Tom being a quarterback, the greatest of all time, he wants an offensive-minded coach.”

Gronk continued: “I think Tom will enjoy the process more being able to talk to an offensive-minded coach as well, to give his opinion on what the offense needs to do. … I feel like that he will be in the mix. And his paws, like you said, will be in it, and he’ll be giving his two cents, and they’ll be listening to his two cents as well.”
