‘Definitely Know It’s Gonna Be Different’ – Shedeur Sanders Addresses Father’s Future As He Moves On

    Published on

Shedeur Sanders addressed his family's future, as the impending NFL Draft could see them all going different ways.

Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders brought several players alongside him, including quarterback Shedeur Sanders, safety Shilo Sanders, and two-way star Travis Hunter from Jackson State two years ago.

In 2023, the team jumped to a 3-0 start before falling flat to end the season 4-8. Sanders knew what to do, as he made a massive haul that resulted in a 9-4 season in 2024, as the program secured its first full-season bowl eligibility since 2016. However, as every good time ends, Coach Prime will be left behind by several players who are declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Shedeur Sanders Discusses Transition Period for Family and Teammates Amid Big Changes

Several speculations have been cast about Coach Prime leaving Boulder and following his sons to the NFL, possibly coaching a team that drafts Shedeur. However, the Pro Football Hall of Famer has revealed that he will stay behind in Colorado and continue to take the program to new heights.

Talking about the transition period in Boulder, Shedeur shared candid thoughts on the inevitable changes ahead on his podcast “2Legendary.”

“Definitely, it’s going to be very different because that’s all he’s known and all we’ve known our whole lives. It’s definitely going to be a bit odd and a bit strange for all of us,” Shedeur said. “Nobody knows — we don’t know where anybody’s going. We don’t know if we’re going to play for the same team, if we’re going to be on the same coast, or anywhere else in the USA.”

This period of transition has prompted many conversations among the group.

“That’s what Ray, B, and I were just talking about, like, ‘Bro, everything is just crazy right now because everybody has to learn how to live without each other.’ Learn how to live without Travis and everybody who’s always been there for us, like on the team and as a support system,” Shedeur added.

The tight-knit bond within the Sanders family will see the test of time as all go different ways while charting their professional careers.

Next Step for Deion Sanders, Shedeur Sanders, and Travis Hunter?

Deion will miss the services of two perennial stars, Shedeur and Hunter, as they leave for the NFL Draft. They are expected to get picked inside the first five picks.

Coach Prime hopes Carrollton High School five-star quarterback Julian Lewis has the leadership ability to take the program forward at the QB position. There is a possibility that Deion will have him start next season despite being a true freshman.

Meanwhile, with the draft order set, the Tennessee Titans, who hold the first pick, could look to draft Shedeur or Hunter first overall.

Among quarterbacks, Cam Ward, Jalen Milroe, and Shedeur could be taken in any order.
