In one of the more shocking twists of the season, Taysom Hill, who is not even really a tight end, set the single week record for TE scoring. Against the Browns, Hill ran the ball 7 times for 138 yards and 3 TDs, while also adding in 8 receptions for 50 yards. It's safe to say he will never do this again.
Sam LaPorta's status as the greatest rookie TE in fantasy football history lasted all of one season. Brock Bowers, playing in a far worse offensive situation, could not be stopped all season, but especially this week. He torched the Dolphins for 126 yards and 1 TD on 13 receptions.
Easily the greatest TE season of all time without a touchdown came to an end when Trey McBride finally found the end zone against the Rams. The Cardinals TE caught 12 passes for 123 yards and 1 TD.
The only player to appear twice on this list is the rookie. Although the Raiders came up short against the Chiefs, Bowers hauled in 10 passes for 140 yards and a score.
Baker Mayfield seemed to be out of options when Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were both lost at the same time. Instead, he turned to his tight end, resulting in Cade Otton's career performance, catching 9 balls for 82 yards and 2 TDs against the Falcons.
Clearly, we all owe Arthur Smith an apology for playing Jonnu Smith over Kyle Pitts last year. The now Steelers OC made a lot of mistakes during his head coaching tenure. That wasn't one of them. Now on the Dolphins, Jonnu proved his recent spike in production was no fluke, popping off for 101 yards and 2 TDs on 6 receptions against the Raiders.
When A.J. Brown is away, Dallas Goedert will play. Stepping up in the absence of the Eagles WR1, the veteran TE caught 10 of 11 targets for 170 yards against the Saints.
All season, Mike Gesicki rose to the occasion as Joe Burrow's de facto WR2 when Tee Higgins was out. His piece de resistance came against the Raiders when he caught 5 passes for 100 yards and 2 TDs.
David Njoku struggled to stay on the field all season, dealing with a medley of injuries. Against the Broncos, though, he proved how dangerous of a weapon he can be when fully healthy. Njoku caught 9 of a whopping 17 targets for 52 yards and 2 scores.
Closing out the to 10, we go all the way back to Week 1. In what was unsurprisingly his best game of the season, Isaiah Likely caught 9 passes for 111 yards and 1 TD against the Chiefs If his foot was one size smaller, he might have caught one more TD and won the game for the Ravens.
