What Did Fans Say About Jerry Jones’ Cameo in ‘Landman’?

The series, created by Taylor Sheridan, follows the oil business in Texas and has been heralded as one of the best shows of the past year.

It’s a great reminder of Sheridan’s incredible storytelling ability, and it’s also insanely gritty and dark. The Cowboys’ top dog is now included on the call sheet.

Jones appeared in the ninth episode of Season 1, titled “Wolfcamp”.

The Cowboys’ owner showed up in a cameo role on the latest “Landman” episode, playing himself while talking to Jon Hamm’s oil executive character Monty Miller.

Except this was no ordinary cameo. Jones delivered a lengthy monologue in a scene in which he visited Hamm’s character in the hospital.

Jones, apparently speaking from the heart, gave Hamm a very believable reminder about the importance of family.

As it turns out, Jones did a good job on the cameo. He knows the business and certainly knows oil and gas. He was a natural.

Fans have taken to social media to praise Jones for his efforts as a Hollywood actor.

One fan said, “This monologue by Jerry Jones in @landmanpplus took us all by surprise, in the best possible way, and was incredibly poignant. Props to Jerry for nailing it, and to Taylor Sheridan for creating this scene! 👏👏 #Landman #LandmanPPlus (🎬: Stephen Kay).”

One fan of the show was yelling she wanted Jones off of her screen. She appears to be a big fan of the show but not so much of the Cowboys owner.

One fan said Jones was a good actor because he has been acting like a Cowboys’ GM for years now.

Another fan wasn’t sold. He thought it was all makeup and multiple takes spooled together to perfect the scene, and he gave Jones no credit for his acting ability.

Another viewer liked Jones’ performance and gave credit where credit was due, but he admits he still hates the man behind the cameo.

Another fan thought Jones was a better actor than a general manager. The post has a good shot of Jones on screen flapping his gums, which is something he is very good at.
