The Detroit Lions have had a dramatic turnaround in just two seasons. After head coach Dan Campbell came to the team, they have gone from an afterthought to Super Bowl favorites in a short period of time. This season, in particular, the Lions have been sensational, with the best offense in the league and a 13-2 record.
Still, Detroit also has some detractors. Due to the uber-aggressive brand of football that they play, some believe the Lions’ “luck” will run out at some point.
Those criticisms are directed straight towards Campbell, who has yet to see a fourth down that he didn’t at least think about converting on. But the coach, alongside his family, had the perfect reply for all the naysayers in a rather holiday-themed way.
Dan Campbell and Family Have Perfect Christmas Sweater
His wife, Holly Campbell, took to Instagram to share a picture of the entire family wearing matching sweaters. While the moment was cute in and of itself, what was printed on their outfits was the true icing on the cake.
Embracing the bombastic style that Detroit has adopted from its head coach, the family wore matching sweaters with a message for those who continue to doubt and question the Lions’ formula.

It was the perfect response from Campbell. For all the debate that has surrounded the Lions, their success remains undeniable. An 11-game winning streak saw them showcase their true peak while also boasting the No. 1 offense in the NFL.
Behind Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery (nicknamed Sonic and Knuckles), Detroit’s offense has had a unique dynamic to it, with Jared Goff having an A+ receiver in Amon-Ra St. Brown to throw to.
Montgomery is now out due to injury, but that combination of an elite passing game along with an excellent ground game allows Campbell to be as experimental and risky as possible.
And with offensive coordinator Ben Johnson’s unparalleled creativity, the results so far have been outstanding. Despite the injuries that the Lions have suffered (31.8% of their Week 1 starters are currently injured, tied for most with the Las Vegas Raiders), Detroit continues to knock off victories one after the other.
With a 13-2 record, the Lions are on pace for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Over the last two weeks of the season, they have to tie or finish better than the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, their Week 18 clash promises to be one for the ages.
The final verdict on Campbell’s philosophy will come out in the postseason. However, so far, it has been overwhelmingly positive as Detroit continues its big, beautiful season.
