ESPN’s Adam Schefter Destroys NBC’s Mike Florio on Christmas – ‘Everything You Say Here Is 100% Wrong’

    Published on

Bitterness between NFL insiders Mike Florio and Adam Schefter spilled over to social media as the two blast each other over a head coach search.

The NFL media landscape is a very competitive space. As the most popular sport in the country, fans are eager for any updates or news about their favorite players and teams. However, even beyond that, inside information is always at a premium, making the insider job one of the hardest and most competitive to handle.

That was on full display on Twitter as reputed NFL senior insider Adam Schefter ripped apart the reporting from Mike Florio about a potential head coaching move that may be in the works.

Adam Schefter Fires Back at Mike Florio’s Teardown

A modern Super Bowl-winning head coach, Pete Carroll, saw a rather unpleasant end to his historic tenure with the Seattle Seahawks. Suddenly, and without preamble, Carroll was let go. However, Carroll isn’t looking to stay away from the NFL sidelines for long.

That story originally came out through Schefter, who even pointed out that Carroll was gunning for the Chicago Bears’ HC job. Unfortunately, the latest reporting from Florio wasn’t kind to Schefty in the slightest. Ripping him apart, he believed that the reporting came out as part of a quid pro quo agreement between Schefter and Carroll’s agent.

Further, Florio directly called him out for engaging in said practice. “It’s another thing to let your strings be pulled by ‘sources’ (probably only one source, but making it plural always sounds better) who want to get their back scratched — and who will return the favor, possibly many times over,” the exact excerpt from the article read.

Once word got around to Schefter, however, he blasted Florio on Twitter. Replying to the post, Schefter wrote, “Everything you say here is 100 percent wrong. Keep up the guess work and Merry Christmas.”

The competition between various insiders has always been at a high. But, this might be one of the more public spats that we’ve seen between members. Unfortunately, reporting from Schefter has been under scrutiny for some time now.

Last week, he reported that NFL legend Michael Vick was ready to take the head coaching job at Sacramento State, where they were going to have $50 million in NIL money available to them.

That was immediately dismissed as wrong by former reporter turned Green Bay basketball head coach Doug Gottlieb.

Since then, Vick has confirmed, on air, that he is taking a head coaching job but at Norfolk State. Between Schefter and Florio, it is hard to predict who is in the right. However, with head coaching jobs set to become a hot topic once the season wraps up, we might find out sooner rather than later.
