Buffaloes Nation erupted in cheers for Shedeur Sanders and Colorado's football team amid their warm send-off before the Alamo Bowl.

Buffaloes Nation Celebrates Shedeur Sanders and Team

Before heading off to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl to play against BYU on Dec. 28, one last time with the same group of players, the football team was asked to step onto Colorado’s hardwood for their special pregame introductions.

The announcer relayed the crowd’s emotions: “All of Buff Nation is behind you. It cannot wait to see you all back in Folsom Field next season. Ladies and gentlemen, get up and make some noise for the 2024 Colorado Buffaloes.”

And make noise they did, before Sanders thanked Colorado fans: “We just wanna thank Buff Nation, thank you Buff Nation for everything. For all the support through our ups and downs and everything. Now it’s time to move on and move to bigger and better things.”

He also introduced Julian Lewis, Colorado’s quarterback signee in the Class of 2025, who is expected to step in Sanders’ shoes after the QB1 leaves for the NFL.

“I want everybody to give it up for — we got Julian Lewis right here.”

After reclassifying, Lewis ended his three-year high school career in Carrollton and will be heading to Boulder after accumulating 11,010 yards and 144 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Sanders is projected to be selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in next year’s draft, per PFN’s latest mock.

His analysis reads: “Shedeur Sanders made the smart choice to go back to school for another year, and it could pay off with him being the top player selected in this year’s class. He has a nice arm, throws with very good anticipation and touch, and he has the mental and physical toughness to make the jump to the NFL and be a solid starter at the next level.”

Sanders recorded 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns on eight interceptions in his 2024 campaign. Over his four-year college career, he accumulated 14,119 yards and 132 touchdown passes, completing 70.1% of his throws.
