Tank Dell suffered a leg injury during the Houston Texans’ 27-19 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The star wide receiver got hurt after colliding with teammate Jared Wayne while catching a 30-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud.
Dell was taken off the field in an ambulance and was later sent to the University of Kansas Medical Center. The severity of the injury is feared to be quite high as fans hold their breath that the promising player has not suffered another season-ending injury.
Tyreek Hill Reacts to Tank Dell’s Injury
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was gutted after seeing Dell’s injury. He expressed his disappointment over the situation on social media.
Hill wrote, “I hate seeing injuries in our game.”
“Heal up Tank. I love watching him play,” the Dolphins star added in another post on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account.
Dell’s injury is considered to be quite significant. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans has confirmed that the player will stay in Kansas City overnight due to the injury.
Texans HC DeMeco Ryans told reporters that wide receiver Tank Dell will remain at a Kansas City hospital overnight with a “significant” knee injury.

Dell was having a productive game against the Chiefs before getting hurt, and had he played the entire game, the Texans could have come away with a win. The 25-year-old wideout had six receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown on seven targets against the defending Super Bowl champions.
As mentioned earlier, this is potentially Dell’s second season-ending injury in as many years. Last year, he suffered a leg fibula fracture and was limited to 11 games. Stroud was in tears after his teammate’s injury as the duo was drafted together and have formed a good relationship since arriving in Houston.

Dell’s injury was quite similar to that of Chiefs star Rashee Rice from earlier this year, who was mistakenly tackled by Patrick Mahomes. However, the Texans’ receiver’s injury looked more gruesome, and he could face a lengthy spell on the sideline. Hopefully, he’ll be able to make a full recovery.
Texans Will Be Without Two Key WRs for the Remainder of the Season
The Texans were viewed as a Super Bowl contender heading into this season as they acquired Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills. The wide receiver trio of Diggs, Dell, and Nico Collins was seen as the best in the league, and Stroud was projected to make a run for the MVP award.
Unfortunately, Houston now has only one of them available for the remainder of the season. Diggs suffered an ACL injury earlier in the season, and since he will be a free agent after this season, there’s a possibility he might have played his last game for the Texans.
Collins has transformed into one of the best receivers in the league, and Stroud will have to rely on him to have any chance of making a deep playoff run. However, Collins also dealt with a hamstring injury this year and missed multiple games, so the team has to be careful with how they use him.
This season has been unlucky for Houston. Not only injuries but Stroud’s regressed play has also hurt the team. The Texans fans believe offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is the reason behind the quarterback’s poor form and have often expressed their desire for the franchise to fire him.
The Texans are 9-6 on the season, and despite the injuries to key players, will win the AFC South. But the chances of the team going on a run in the playoffs seem unrealistic.
