During an interview on 105.3 The Fan, Jones said, “If you can get ahead of (these big contracts), you want to get ahead of them. Hats off to Micah. I’ve seen some of the comments that he’s made. (He’s) had conversations with Jerry (Jones) and I. That’s what we want. We want guys who want to be here.”

“It would be nice to be surrounded by good players. Players are going to help you win championships. I want to keep as many guys as possible… I don’t need $40 million per year. I need to be somewhere where I can have a lake house,” he said, keeping things humble while still recognizing his star power. Unlike some players who aim for that top-tier payday, Parsons wants to keep the core together, even if it means taking a slight pay cut.

Parsons, a two-season Nittany Lion, also called out the tough, physical grind of Big Ten football. “It’s football weather,” he emphasized. “That’s the difference between the Big Ten and all these other fancy schools. The Big Ten got the best backs, too.”
