The hype is real, but so are the mixed emotions. Dallas Cowboys fans are giving their two cents on the first look of “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys” documentary. Some are all in, while others are already calling it a “depressing” ride.

With the Cowboys’ storied history, it’s tough to know what to expect. Let’s just say — fans are divided, and the excitement is … complicated.

Cowboys Fans Slam Netflix Trailer: Disappointment, Frustration, and Calls for Change

When Netflix dropped the first trailer for “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys,” fans weren’t exactly all the way up. In fact, the reactions have been downright brutal, and the trailer’s debut has sparked a wave of emotions, from disappointment to frustration.

One fan summed it up with a blunt “This trailer is depressing.” Ouch.

But this sentiment wasn’t just about the footage — it’s about the Cowboys’ current struggles under owner Jerry Jones’ ownership.

“This organization is depressing,” one fan responded, followed by a “I fixed it for you.” (Translation: they’re over it.)

The critical reactions kept rolling in.

“How did NFL Films even sign off on this trailer lmfao?” one fan sarcastically asked, calling out the series for lacking excitement and, perhaps, direction.

Meanwhile, others weren’t even giving it a shot.

“Agreed. I’m honestly probably not going to watch this,” said one fan, joining the “no thanks” crowd.

But the best (or worst) of it came from one particularly fired-up fan: “Honestly Fam people should Stop doing media and talking to Jerry & Stephen until they reach an NFC championship game. Just have a media blackout on these two no media no tv interviews just tell them we’ll talk to you at the NFC Championship game until then shut up your pie hole.”

This fan called for a media blackout on the Joneses until the team actually starts delivering results, showing that their patience is running extremely thin.

The trailer is raising more questions than answers, but one thing’s clear: fans want more than nostalgia and Jones’ soap opera antics. The jury’s still out on whether this docuseries can turn things around.

The 10-part docuseries (dropping in 2025) explores the Jones era, but the trailer left a few fans cringing. With nostalgic footage from the ’90s — Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin — and the song “All The Way Up” blaring in the background, it looks like the glory days are coming back in style.

But here’s the kicker: Jones himself steals the show. In the trailer, he casually drops, “It’s bigger than winning football games,” and “Keep ‘em talking. It’s a soap opera 365 days a year.” That’s right, the guy’s got bigger plans than just dominating the NFL.

Produced by Skydance Sports and NFL Films, this series promises exclusive footage from the Cowboys’ rise to become the world’s most valuable sports franchise. It’s a big gamble, but Cowboys Nation is ready to watch it all unfold.
