The white shoulders accentuate the name on the back perfectly. The way the white and blue meet mid-sleeve to sharply jet up to the mid-collar is unique. The stars on the shoulder and helmet are simple yet beautiful. The numbers have no outline. Like the Cowboys’ daily jerseys, these are a classic and simple design, which is a perfect contrast for such a bright franchise. The 1994 season produced some excellent uniforms, and the Buffalo Bills' threads were no exception. Red, white, and blue will always be a winning combination. But the red helmet with the blue tops and white pants was the best look the Bills have sported in their history. What makes this one of the top throwback uniforms in NFL history is the beautiful color coordination. The Miami Dolphins' uniforms from the Dan Marino era were clean. The white tops with teal numbers contrast beautifully with the tertiary orange Miami uses. The stark difference between the bottom and top due to the teal-based pants worked perfectly. Also, the logo on the side of the helmet completes the design. An orange ring somewhat framing a dolphin wearing an old-school helmet? I’m in. The Houston Oilers’ baby blue jerseys with white numbers and red outlines are some of the prettiest throwback uniforms in NFL history. These jerseys are so popular that two different franchises tried to adopt them as their own. The Tennessee Titans wear these jerseys, and the Houston Texans also tried donning Oilers-inspired throwbacks until the NFL blocked them. The league also stopped the University of Houston from wearing similar threads. Black jerseys. Black helmet. Deion Sanders in his backpedal, getting ready to snatch up another pass from the opposition. That’s the look. Paired with the Falcons' wing swooping down to follow the lines of the facemask, and you have some of the meanest throwback uniforms in NFL history. The subtle red outline on the numbers is perfect, and the silver pants complete the set. Once again, 1994 produces a timeless uniform. These San Francisco 49ers' jerseys had to have the most prominent numbers in NFL history. The three red stripes on the sleeve were perfect, and even the most near-sighted fans could see everyone’s numbers from the nosebleed seats. It helps that these were worn during some of the most memorable plays in NFL history. The New England Patriots’ modern uniforms are among the worst in the NFL. Really, their jerseys haven’t looked cool since the 1990s. But the throwback “Pat Patriot” reds? They’re some of the best jerseys in NFL history. The red, white, and blue all pop and combine to make a color scheme perfect for a franchise called the Patriots. Thankfully, New England recently resurrected these jerseys as their throwbacks. Here’s hoping they use them even more in the future. Reminder: This is a subjective list. Some people believe the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Creamsicle jerseys are among the ugliest in sports; others believe they’re beautiful. We fall into the latter camp. These jerseys are undoubtedly unique, but they are perfect for the Sunshine State and Bucco Bruce's inclusion makes them one of the coolest NFL jerseys of all time. These are so, so good. Thank goodness the Philadelphia Eagles brought them back as throwbacks. Worn during the Randall Cunningham and Reggie White era, the Kelly Green jerseys are immeasurably better than Philly’s modern look, which is fine but unremarkable. The Kelly Greens strike the enviable balance of looking simultaneously fresh and classic. Let’s not overthink this. The Los Angeles Chargers’ powder blue jerseys are the best in NFL history and on the short list of best sports jerseys of all time. The color scheme is as cool as it gets, and the bolt logo is the cherry on top.
