‘He Capping out His A**’ — NFL Fans React to Deion Sanders’ Claims for Son Shedeur Sanders To Be the No. 1 Draft Pick

    Published on

Deion Sanders once again displayed confidence in his son Shedeur Sanders, projecting him to be selected as the top pick in the upcoming draft.

Now that the regular season is over in Boulder, Colo., head coach Deion Sanders has had some time to wonder where his athletes who declared for the 2025 NFL Draft will land. The Buffaloes have two Day 1 picks in quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is Coach Prime’s son, and dual-threat Travis Hunter, 2024 Heisman winner.

While next year’s draft is projected to have multiple quarterback-needy teams, Shedeur has been one of the names in conversations for teams looking for a signal-caller. Given the records this season, the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants are both contending for the No. 1 pick, having the same record of 2-12.

NFL Fans React to Deion Sanders Selecting Shedeur Sanders as Top Pick

Talking on a Dec. 18 episode of “The Pacman Jones Show,” Coach Prime confidently said that his son was going to be the first one off the board and off to the Giants, who parted ways with their QB Daniel Jones last month, and their remaining quarterback options Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock are not under contract for 2025.

Upon hearing the news, fans came alive and flooded the clip of Sanders’ dialogue with comments.

The Colorado QB accumulated 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns with eight interceptions in 2024. However, despite this, some fans were not happy.

“He capping out his a**,” a fan said.

“Any team that picks him is trying to lose games and money,” a user commented.

Meanwhile, others were all for it.

“If the Giants were smart, they’d make this pic. Sheduer is the number 1 QB in the draft this year,” a fan said.

“Why wouldn’t he? He plays at an elite level on both sides of the ball,” another fan commented.

During the Heisman ceremony in New York, Shedeur was in the city to support his teammate, Hunter. In the meantime, he was seen playing catch with the Giants’ wide receiver, Malik Nabers.

“Nabers bout to put up crazy numbers 🔥,” a fan wrote.

“Sanders and Nabers will be a good duo,” another fan chimed in.

Given that Nabers will have to have a strong connection with the next quarterback that comes in with the draft, he was asked to comment on his possible pairing with Sanders. He replied:

“Deion is very confident in his son, but that’s something upstairs that they’ve got to do,” Nabers said. “They’ve got to look over the film and see what quarterback that they want. I’m not sure if they want a quarterback. I’m not sure. It’s not draft time, but the decision will be made when it’s time for the draft.”

In Pro Football Network’s latest mock draft written by Brett Hoffman, Shedeur was headed to Las Vegas as the No. 1 pick; meanwhile, Hunter was picked third overall by the New England Patriots. Miami’s Cam Ward is another top quarterback option and is projected to be picked at No. 2 by the Giants.
