‘When You Got Billions of Damn Dollars Why You Eating Squirrel Brains’ – Ex-NFLer Responds to Jerry Jones’ Shocking Squirrel-Eating Confession

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones brought up some food preferences that had one former player teeing off on the 82-year-old.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones took to the radio waves, and along the way, he casually admitted he likes to eat raccoons and squirrels. He even went so far as to explain he likes to eat squirrel brains. Appearing on 105.3, The Fan in Dallas, he explained how the food was a common delicacy growing up. He and his mom still eat the animals and often ask for the squirrel’s brain.

Domonique Foxworth, a former NFL cornerback and talk show host on ESPN, criticized the owner for his taste in delicacies.

Domonique Foxworth Sounds Off on Squirrel Delicacy

Foxworth took time out of his schedule this week to lambaste Jones for eating animals like raccoons and squirrels.

“I’m a city boy, I grew up with working plumbing and electricity. We didn’t have to do things like that. Growing up when I went down to Thanksgiving with my dad’s family and they would eat chitlins and stuff, I would tell them the good guys won the civil war,” Foxworth said. “We don’t have to eat that anymore. We can eat the muscles. We don’t gotta eat the organs.

“Brains? What are you eating squirrel brains when you got billions of damn dollars. Why you eating squirrel brains for? We don’t gotta eat that. We can eat the breast, the drumstick, we don’t gotta eat the organs.”

Jones’ admission to eating raccoons and squirrels follows Xavier Legette of the Carolina Panthers saying he had raccoon for Thanksgiving.

“I’ve eaten a lot of raccoon,” Jones said. “Yes, the answer is yes. I’ve eaten it hunting, and I have actually had it served by my mom at the table away from hunting….It’s not uncommon at all.”

“One of my favorites is squirrel. It’s wonderful and my mother did a wonderful job in preparing it,” Jones said. “We all had our favorite pieces…My mom and I would even ask for the brain in a squirrel. Delicious. Seriously.”
