    Published on

Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter made his Heisman win official by wearing the famous gold coat on Saturday.

On Saturday, Travis Hunter was announced as the 90th winner of the Heisman Trophy, the latest inductee to the list of college football greats.

In his second year with the Colorado Buffaloes, Hunter helped them to an impressive 9-3 record, almost making the conference title game in the process. With his prowess, the Buffaloes became bowl-eligible for the first time since 2020.

Travis Hunter Wears Iconic Heisman Coat

Every year, the Heisman winner gets greeted by fellow winners and given the official celebratory coat. Following the tradition, Hunter got his official suit, a gold blazer with a prominent Heisman Trophy logo patch on the left chest pocket.

This was highlighted in a post by the Buffaloes, which officially welcomed Hunter into the “brotherhood” of Heisman Trophy winners.

Although the Heisman was his most notable piece of hardware, it was not the only award Hunter was honored with this season. He also won the Walter Camp Award and was named the AP College Football Player of the Year. For his exceptional defense at cornerback, he was announced as the recipient of the Chuck Bednarik Award and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. As a wide receiver, he won the Fred Biletnikoff Award.

For his impact both on and off the field, he earned his second consecutive Paul Hornung Award and the prestigious Lott Trophy. Of course, Hunter was named a first-team All-American and a first-team All-Big 12 selection.

Hunter To Enter 2025 NFL Draft

If there were any doubts about whether Hunter was going to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, the Heisman winner himself ended them during the season when speaking to the media.

“That’s definitely for sure,” Hunter said on a conference call.

Hunter still has one more year of college eligibility left. However, he, along with fellow Colorado star Shedeur Sanders and several Buffaloes teammates will see their fates decided in April.

Hunter is expected to be one of the first non-quarterbacks taken in the NFL Draft, putting the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars at the front of the line for his talents.
