The 2024 Heisman has a very different vibe, and it’s mainly because of two players: Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty, the only non-QB contestants standing favorites to win the trophy. On Friday night, the top NFL draft prospect and Boise State RB Jeanty made a unique gesture to honor his school.
Ashton Jeanty Rocks Boise State Gear for the Pre-Heisman Press Conference
The peculiar blue turf at Albertsons Stadium became quite popular among football fans this season as Boise State’s star running back caught national spotlight for his insane record. Now, he is in New York for the Heisman ceremony along with other contestants: Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel, Miami QB Cam Ward, and Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter.
In the pre-event video, Jeanty was seen repping Boise State attire. “Reading the little Heisman pamphlet, they said, like they encouraged us to wear our gear,” Jeanty said.
“But regardless, I was going to wear it anyway, because, I mean, I wouldn’t be here without, you know, Boise State. And I just want to represent my school. And, you know, I feel like that’s important.”

In the 2024 season, the 21-year-old recorded an eye-catching 2,497 yards and 29 touchdowns while putting Boise State on the College Football Playoff map. The Broncos concluded their season with a 12-1 record, a Mountain West title, and an automatic bid to the Playoff.
Jeanty Is Expected To Be a Top 10 Pick in 2025 NFL Draft
With a massive college football record and playoff eligibility, Jeanty’s draft stock has been soaring. According to our expert prediction, the Boise State RB is projected to be the No. 10 overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Nearly two months ago, while streaming live on social media, Jeanty revealed his personal preferences.
According to 247 Sports, three teams — the Chicago Bears, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Dallas Cowboys—came out on top. He viewed the Cowboys’ move as an opportunity to become a hometown hero.
Regardless, any team that brings in Jeanty will have a great steal, as they would be getting a franchise player who can deliver consistently with fewer injuries and more productivity on an exponential scale.
