‘He Is Pathetic’ — NFL Fans Outraged as Josh Allen Gets Away With Flopping vs. Rams

    Published on

Social media reacted as Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen appeared to flop to earn a penalty, distracting from Allen's MVP-worthy performance.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills played against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14. The 28-year-old quarterback is the favorite to win the MVP award this year and had another dominant performance against a pretty good Rams team.

During the game, Allen was seen trying to get a call after a Rams player came close to him and the two players touched helmets. The Bills quarterback caught a lot of flak for it from fans on social media as they thought he was flopping.

NFL Fans Criticized Josh Allen for Flopping

NFL fans on social media, especially the Kansas City Chiefs fans, did not like how Allen tried getting a call from the refs. They criticized him and compared his situation to Patrick Mahomes, as the two-time NFL MVP has often faced backlash for being in similar situations.

The Bills received many favorable calls, including late in the game, which is why the outrage from fans seemed justified. Unfortunately, those calls were not enough for Buffalo to win the game, as they lost 44-42 against the Rams and are now 10-3 on the season.

Here’s how the fans reacted to the Bills quarterback’s flopping video:

“Allen is pathetic and deserves so much more s**t than he gets,” said one fan.

Another fan added, “Josh Allen does it, and everyone thinks it’s so silly, but if Mahomes did this, the world would explode.”

“Josh Allen would be flipping burgers if he didn’t flop every 2 seconds,” wrote one fan.

“I’ve never seen a player flop as much as Josh Allen,” said another fan.

Allen and his team were on a seven-game winning streak heading into Week 14, but Matthew Stafford and the rest of the Rams’ offense played a flawless game and denied the MVP frontrunner of what could have been another statement win.

The Bills star threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to the Rams. He completed 59.4% of his throws while also rushing for 82 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Allen contributed six touchdowns in this game, and although his team lost, he has improved his case to win the MVP award.

Nick Wright Called Out Allen While Defending Patrick Mahomes

Nick Wright, a big Chiefs fan, condemned Allen for his antics against the Rams. The Fox Sports analyst has praised the Bills and their quarterback throughout the season but wanted to highlight today’s instance while defending Mahomes.

Many fans on social media have criticized the Chiefs quarterback for getting calls in his favor. However, the stats show a different story.

“Folks love to act like Mahomes is some sacred cow for NFL refs, when in reality, since he came into the league, no one has gotten more roughing the passer penalties than Josh, and today he’s gotten 2 ridiculous ones and tried to flop his way into a 3rd,” wrote Wright via his account on X.

Allen is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league, and players of his caliber might get favorable calls from the referees. The same thing should be kept in mind for Mahomes, but the fans love to spur hate on the Chiefs, and everything involving them gets magnified by a lot.

In a prime-time game, Kansas City will play the Los Angeles Chargers later tonight. It would not be surprising if a lot of buzz is created on social media when a call goes in favor of the defending Super Bowl champions.
