Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane left in the second quarter of the team’s game vs. the New York Jets. Below is the latest on the Dolphins’ starting running back.
What Happened to De’Von Achane?
UPDATE: Achane returned to the game and appears no worse for the wear.
ORIGINAL: Achane was injured on an incompletion with 6:28 left in the second quarter. The second-year pro tried to corral a high pass on a tunnel screen from Tua Tagovailoa and took a hard hit from defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

Achane came up slow and entered the blue medical tent for further evaluation. Yet, rather than heading to the locker room, he left the tent and stayed on the sideline.
Achane hasn’t missed a game yet this season, but it’s worth noting that he did suffer a concussion in Week 5 vs. the New England Patriots. He benefited from fortuitous timing, as the Dolphins had their bye in Week 6, enabling him to return without missing a game.
Achane had 10 carries for 24 yards and a rushing touchdown at the time of departing, along with two receptions for 23 yards through the air.
Fantasy Impact if Achane Is Out
Rookie Jaylen Wright, with Raheem Mostert inactive, was working his way into the mix prior to the Achane injury (three touches on Miami’s first four plays of their second drive against the Jets) and profiles as a league-winner should he assume the lead role in Miami’s offense.
The Dolphins get the Texans, 49ers, and Browns to round out the fantasy season — not a favorable stretch, but not enough to remove him from the RB2 range should his usage spike.
