As the college football regular season ended, Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes’ playoff hopes also came to a close, despite finishing the year at 9-3. While a bowl game should allow the program to end its season on a high note, Colorado knows it fumbled its chance at a championship. Even so, the hype surrounding Coach Prime and his son, Shedeur Sanders, isn’t going anywhere.
Shedeur is among the top prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft, with speculation swirling about which NFL team he might join. On top of that, there are rumors of Deion Sanders potentially entering the NFL next season as well after his impressive run with the Buffaloes.
Could the father-son duo reunite on the same team? Some analysts think it’s possible.
Could Jacksonville Be the Next Stop for Shedeur and Deion Sanders?
Recently, Fox Sports analyst Jason McIntyre appeared on FS1’s “The Herd,” where he speculated about a perfect landing spot for Shedeur Sanders. He believes the Jacksonville Jaguars could be a team interested in not only drafting a young quarterback but also bringing in a new head coach, making it an ideal destination for Shedeur and Deion.
“The one that I think is the super sleeper, if you are looking for a super sleeper, is Jacksonville, where maybe they say, ‘Hey, we just lucked into Shedeur Sanders,'” he said. “‘Let’s go after Deion, and let’s move on from Trevor Lawrence.’ You could get a haul for Trevor Lawrence.”

The Jaguars are struggling with a 2-10 record, tied for worst in the league alongside the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants. Their starting quarterback, Lawrence, is just 22-38 for his career as the starter. He’s yet to truly emerge as the superstar fans hoped he become, despite earning a $275 million contract extension.
So far this season, Lawrence has completed 60.6% of his passes for 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. If wins don’t come the Jaguars’ way in their final five games, they will end up with an early first-round pick and could consider moving on from Lawrence, albeit unlikely.
Could the Jaguars Replace Doug Pederson With Coach Prime?
Meanwhile, Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson is feeling the heat in his third year on the job, thanks to consecutive disappointing seasons.
After Jacksonville’s poor 3-14 campaign in 2021, Pederson was brought in to turn things around. He delivered a 9-8 record in his first season, even taking the team to the AFC Divisional Round. They matched that 9-8 record last year, plateauing, but 2024 has been a nightmare.
With a 20-26 record with the Jaguars, Pederson’s future is in question. Could Jacksonville shake things up and go after Coach Prime instead?
Prime Time is riding high with the Buffaloes, leading them to an impressive 9-3 season after a 4-8 finish last year. While Sanders has said he wants to stay in Boulder, don’t be surprised if a big offseason move is on the horizon.
