In what has been a disappointing season by all accounts, New York Giants supporters are voicing their displeasure with the state of the franchise. While some individuals believe firing head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen is the correct path forward, others think more drastic change is needed, specifically at the ownership level, to improve the once successful team.
The Giants are currently in the midst of another poor campaign that has become all too familiar in recent years. After another loss to the divisional rival Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, the G-Men currently sit last in the NFC East with a dismal 2-10 record.
Social Media Discussion About State of the Giants
While the Giants organization has been criticized in every direction, owner John Mara has been taking a lot of the heat lately.
“Mara is 110% the problem similar to how Jerry Jones is the problem in Dallas,” one user detailed.

“Because the problem with the Giants is John Mara,” another explained in a response about whether Daboll and/or Schoen’s contracts should be terminated.
“Because Mara forced them to pay an awful QB who over-performed during a contract year. I’m sure Dabs wanted his pick at a QB as soon as he had the chance. Now they have a chance. But their leash should be short”, one individual said when blaming the current owner for the QB struggles in recent years.

However, there are some social media users who believe Mara is not the problem in New York.
“Schoen and Daboll put the team in this position. Their 3 year tryout was a miserable failure”, they outlined in a response to a post.

Who Is To Blame for the Giants’ Situation?
While the Giants have been dysfunctional for the better part of a decade, it is clear that football fans alike are split as to where the blame lies in the Big Apple. While it is believed that ownership played a large role in the massive contract to former quarterback Daniel Jones, there are key roster errors made by the general manager and head coach as well.
This offseason, Schoen was largely responsible for the club’s decision against extending star running back Saquon Barkley, who is currently having a career season with the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles.
On the other hand, Daboll has been criticized for his decision to bypass backup quarterback Drew Lock in favor of third-string quarterback Tommy Devito.
As is clear, the Giants’ struggles do not fall solely on one individual. However, it is evident that fans of the team want someone to blame and answer for the abysmal on-field product.
