Caleb Williams took an awkward shot to his knee on Thanksgiving vs. the Detroit Lions. What's the latest on the Chicago Bears quarterback?

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was shaken up after a massive hit in the third quarter of the team’s Thanksgiving matchup vs. the Detroit Lions. Below are the latest updates on the latest No. 1 overall pick.

    What Happened to Caleb Williams?

UPDATE: Williams remained in the game after being examined in the medical tent.

ORIGINAL: Williams took an awkward hit to his left knee from Lions linebacker Jack Campbell while scrambling during the Bears’ opening drive of the second half.

Chicago’s starting quarterback didn’t leave the game, however, and seemed perfectly fine when throwing a 31-yard touchdown to Keenan Allen on the very next play.

However, Williams was subsequently seen grimacing on the sidelines and did head to the blue medical tent for an evaluation on his knee. The Bears did not issue an injury status, and Williams remained on the sideline, suggesting that this is a minor ailment for now.

With the Bears trailing and Williams needing to drop back for the majority of the game remaining, he’ll likely be exposed to further potential hits. That makes this something to monitor, as the last thing Chicago needs is any damage to its franchise quarterback.
