Latest Injury Report News and Updates
The Chiefs are getting some long-awaited reinforcements this week. Starting running back Isiah Pacheco has been out since Week 2 but will make his return after practicing in full this week and being left off the final injury report entirely.
In addition, defensive end Charles Omenihu will make his season debut after suffering a torn ACL in last year’s AFC Championship Game. Omenihu’s return will help boost a pass rush that has been overly reliant on Chris Jones, who accounts for 33.6% of the Chiefs’ pressures this season. That’s the highest rate of any defensive tackle and eighth-highest for any player.
On the other side, the Raiders are turning back to Aidan O’Connell at quarterback with Gardner Minshew II (broken collarbone) out for the season. This is the first game O’Connell is eligible to play after missing four games on injured reserve with a broken thumb. While the Raiders would likely prefer a longer ramp-up period for the second-year quarterback, they don’t have that luxury.
Running back also remains a question for the Raiders. Both their top two backs Alexander Mattison and Zamir White were out last week, leaving Ameer Abdullah as the starter. Mattison is closer this week but remains questionable with an ankle injury while White is out.
