The Sport Fishing Championship league was founded in 2021. However, it is transitioning to a 16-team league format. Twelve of these teams have been acquired by different personalities, one of whom is Mostert.

The 2023 Pro Bowler’s wife took to her Instagram stories to share her congratulatory wishes to Raheem. She posted a screenshot of a news story covering Raheem’s investment. “Proud of you Raheem Mostert. I know that owning a fishing team was a huge part of the dream,” she captioned her post.

Apart from Raheem, Hall of Famer Randy Moss and New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara have also purchased a team each in the SFC. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed as of now.

Mostert’s First Love Is Fishing and Not Football

The SFC President Mark Neifeld announced Mostert’s participation and revealed the RB’s passion for fishing. This is exactly what the league was looking for when it opened up 12 out of 16 teams to be purchased by influential people.

“When I got a chance to meet Raheem, he told me that fishing was really the first sport he had picked up,” Neifeld said. “He had a rod and reel in his hand before his parents ever signed him up for football.”

“He just is very passionate about the sport. He obviously plays in Southeast Florida right now and has been around (fishing). The culture in Southeast Florida is really the epicenter of the Saltwater Fishing community,” added Neifeld about Mostert.
